  • Patent number: 9228754
Abstract: The invention relates to a cuboidal housing for components of a HVAC system. The housing has at least one air inlet, at least one air outlet and a frame. The frame consists of twelve segments which form edge lines. The segments span six open side surfaces in a sealing manner with the open side surface of an adjacent housing, and an insulating means is located between the inner wall and the outer wall. Each panel element has a plastic profile wherein the profile has two bearing limbs each having a bearing surface. In the fitted state, the bearing surface of one bearing limb is in contact with the outer side of the frame segment directly or via at least one further component. In the fitted state, the bearing surface of the other bearing limb faces that side of the frame segment which is facing in the direction of the interior.

  • Patent number: 9128490
Abstract: The invention is a butterfly valve for a flow duct of an air-conditioning installation. The butterfly valve comprises two butterfly valve faces and is mounted for rotation about an axis. A device with at least two measurement points for determining the volume flow rate of a gaseous medium flowing in the flow duct is provided. In order to specify a butterfly valve, for example for a volume flow rate controller, which can determine a high differential pressure, even at very low volume flow rates, the butterfly valve comprises at least one hollow chamber on each of its two butterfly valve faces. Each hollow chamber has at least one recess, preferably with a multiplicity of recesses formed in the manner of a perforation. One measurement point is associated with one hollow chamber and the other measurement point is associated with the other hollow chamber.

  • Patent number: 6231438
Abstract: A floor mounted adjustable airflow assembly for use with an underfloor air distribution or diffuser system. The assembly comprises a circular grate housing nesting a rotatable and removable, circular grate mechanism, where the assembly includes a cam riding, continuous sleeve that may be recessed by rotation of the circular grate mechanism for full air flow, or extended to close off air flow, or readily set at selected positions therebetween as a means to control air flow from an underfloor plenum to the space above the floor.

  • Patent number: 6083100
Abstract: An air diffuser assembly for use in combination with an underfloor air distribution system, where the system includes in part a cavity under a floor, having an upper surface, transmitting air under pressure to selected locations above the floor. The air diffuser assembly comprises first and second annular rings threadably engaging one another and secured respectively to above and below the floor, where the first annular ring includes an annular shoulder for receiving a grill assembly. The grill assembly is seated on the shoulder and is in communication with the space above the upper surface. The grill assembly further includes a centrally disposed, downwardly extending, vertically adjustable rod mounting a circular basket at its free end. The basket includes an array of through holes for delivering pressurized air from the underfloor cavity to the diffuser assembly, and means, such as a rod, connecting the basket to the grill assembly to prevent rotation of the basket.

  • Patent number: 4520844
Abstract: The invention concerns a regulator valve for stabilizing volume flow, especially in ventilation systems, with an adjustment flap (4) which is pivotable mounted in a flow conduit (2) and can be adjusted by a variable adjusting motor (12) and with a measuring probe (14) located in the flow conduit (1 resp. 2). In order that a reliable regulation and stabilization of the volume flow is possible independently of the arrangement and of the configuration of the conduit system upstream from the regulator valve, a turbulence grate (6) should be located upstream from the adjustment flap (4).

  • Patent number: 4508022
Abstract: The invention concerns a ceiling air outlet, especially for air-conditioned areas, with a housing which can be connected to a supply air line and has a separating wall, two flow paths and an outlet grate, whereby an adjustment flap is located in at least one of the flow paths. In order to maintain a stable flow of areal air under a variable amount of supply air furnished by the air-conditioning system, the separating wall is positioned essentially parallel to the outlet grate and has at least one opening which can be closed by the adjustment flap. A series of jet openings or jet slits directed toward the outlet grate are located in the separating wall at least in the area of the free edge of the adjustment flap.

  • Patent number: 4488575
Abstract: The invention concerns a volume flow regulator for ventilation systems with a conduit section (1) in which a regulating part (3) is pivotably mounted about an axle (2) which bisects the conduit cross section, whereby the regulating part (3) has a basically even surface on its leading side and a length which corresponds to the conduit height. In order to reduce the noises produced by the volume flow regulator itself, the regulating part (3) has a semicircular section in a plane vertical to its pivot axle (2), whereby the section radius corresponds to one half the conduit height. In a rectangular conduit section the regulating part (3) is a semicylinder whose curved contour fits against a conduit wall with a slight amount of play in all regulating positions. The regulating part can be balanced in various ways. In addition, a diffuser (24, 27) can be connected in after it which also functions as a sound absorber.
