Abstract: There is disclosed an improved temperature responsive pacifier assembly having a liquid medium disposed in an interior chamber, and a temperature-responsive element comprised of a spacer strip or element having one or more temperature display dots mounted thereon and formed of a liquid crystal material coated on a colored substrate. The liquid crystal material is responsive to a temperature above about 98.6.degree. F. whereby the liquid crystal material clears to expose the colored substrate thereby visually indicating an abnormal temperature condition of a mammal, and in particular, a homo sapien, orally utilizing such improved pacifier assembly.
Abstract: A temperature sensing assembly comprised of clinical thermometer including a reservoir portion disposed in a body member comprised of a shaft portion having a lip positioning element at one end and an outwardly extending flared bulbous portion at the other end for positioning within the oral cavity wherein the clinical thermometer is disposed in a channel formed in the body member whereby by reservoir portions of the clinical thermometer coextends with the bulbous portion of the body member into the oral cavity of the mammal being temperature sensed.
Abstract: There is disclosed these and other objects of the present invention are achieved by coating a substrate with a temperature-response composition comprised of a colloidal suspension of inorganic compounds of a particle size less than 20 microns and greater than 5 microns and of a desired melting temperature suspended in a water-based solution of a water soluble organic compound wherein the temperature-responsive composition is formed by blending of from 30 to 70 parts of the inorganic compound from 70 to 30 parts of the water-based solution.
Abstract: There is disclosed a temperature responsive pacifier assembly comprised of a liquid crystal material in a liquid and responsive to a temperature above about 100.degree. F., whereby the liquid crystal material changes color to visuably indicate an abnormal temperature condition of an individual utilizing the pacifier assembly, as well as a process for manufacture same.
