Abstract: A truck that includes a bed section located rear of a cab section where the bed section is bounded on each side by opposing first and second upward-extending side walls, respectively. The truck includes a tonneau cover which has a first panel section pivotable with respect to the opposing first and second upward-extending side walls. A latching assembly is attached to the first panel section that selectively secures and releases the first panel section with respect to the first and second upward-extending side walls of the truck. The latching assembly includes at least one adjustable pinch latch assembly. The pinch latch assembly includes a latch handle portion and a latch base located on the first panel section adjacent the latch handle portion.

Abstract: A truck cap assembly that selectively covers a truck bed of a truck is provided. The truck cap assembly may include a cap that sets on opposing side walls of the truck; a cap door located on the cap; a latch bar located on the cap; a controller located on the cap door; and a latch release assembly which includes a motor and a latch arm. The controller is in electrical communication with a motor actuator that is coupled to a latch arm. A signal from the controller activates the motor to move the latch arm. The latch arm is releasable from the latch bar to release the cap door.

Abstract: A tonneau cover for a bed of a truck is provided. The tonneau cover includes several improvements including but not limited to a bulkhead panel that is secured to the truck. A first cover panel section pivotably attached to the bulkhead panel. A first intermediate panel section pivotably attached to the first cover panel section and a second panel section. A second intermediate panel section pivotably attached to the second cover panel section and a third panel section. The first cover panel section, the second cover panel section, and the third cover panel section fold to form a stack of cover panel sections which is pivoted upright onto the bulkhead panel which supports the stack of cover panel sections in an upright position. The second intermediate panel section sets upon the bulkhead panel when the stack of cover panel sections is pivoted upright onto the bulkhead panel.

Abstract: A tonneau cover for use on a cargo box of a pick-up truck is provided. The tonneau cover may include at least one panel and a latching assembly located on the at least one panel. The latching assembly selectively secures and releases the at least one panel. The latching assembly includes at least one shoe. The at least one shoe is configured for moving at least a portion of the latching assembly to release the at least one panel. The at least one shoe is movable between an extended use position and a retracted stowed position with respect to the at least one panel. And the at least one shoe is spring biased to its extended use position.

Abstract: A tonneau cover for a bed of a truck is provided. The tonneau cover includes several improvements including but not limited to a bulkhead panel that is secured to the truck. A first cover panel section pivotably attached to the bulkhead panel. A first intermediate panel section pivotably attached to the first cover panel section and a second panel section. A second intermediate panel section pivotably attached to the second cover panel section and a third panel section. The first cover panel section, the second cover panel section, and the third cover panel section fold to form a stack of cover panel sections which is pivoted upright onto the bulkhead panel which supports the stack of cover panel sections in an upright position. The second intermediate panel section sets upon the bulkhead panel when the stack of cover panel sections is pivoted upright onto the bulkhead panel.

Abstract: A truck cap having a cap body with an opening, and a cap door that is movable between open and closed positions with respect to the opening. At least one hinge that attaches to the cap body and the cap door of the truck cap. The hinge includes a first hinge bracket member and a second hinge bracket member. The first hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket to receive a pivot pin. The second hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket with an opening sized to receive at least a portion of the pivot pin. The first hinge bracket member and the second hinge bracket member are pivotable with respect to each other about the pivot pin. A longitudinally extending gas prop pivotably attached to the pin extending from the second angled portion of the first hinge bracket member and to the pin of the second hinge bracket member.

Abstract: A tonneau cover assembly located over the cargo bed of a truck is provided. The tonneau cover assembly includes a base panel that extends over the cargo bed of the truck. The tonneau cover also includes at least one cover section that selectively shrouds the cargo bed and is located adjacent the base panel. The tonneau cover assembly includes either one or both a tie-down block assembly and/or a tether assembly.

Abstract: A vehicle that includes a door, handle, shaft, and a latch assembly is provided. The latch assembly is coupled to the door to selectively secure the door. The latch assembly includes a security tether configured to prevent the shaft from moving the pawl when the lock lever is located in the locked condition.

Abstract: A truck is provided that includes a bed section located rear of a cab section. The bed section is bounded on each side by opposing first and second upward-extending sidewalls, respectively. The truck also includes a truck bed cover that sits over the bed section on at least the first and second upward-extending sidewalls, and includes a door portion to create selective accessibility to the bed section of the pickup truck. The door portion is movable with respect to the first and second upward-extending sidewalls between open and closed positons via an automatic bed cover drive assembly that moves the door portion between open and closed positons according to a plurality of velocities within a predetermined variance.

The cover includes a stiffener located adjacent the attachment member of the longitudinally extending rail.

Abstract: An illustrative embodiment of a truck cap that sits on opposing sidewalls and over the top of a cargo box of a pickup truck is provided. The truck cap has a cap body with an opening. A cap door that is movable between open and closed positions with respect to the opening of the cap body. At least one truck cap door hinge that attaches to the cap body and the cap door of the truck cap. The truck cap door hinge includes a first hinge bracket member and a second hinge bracket member. The first hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket to receive the pivot pin. Likewise, the second hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket with an opening sized to receive at least a portion of the pivot pin. The first hinge bracket member and the second hinge bracket member are pivotable with respect to each other about the pivot pin.

Abstract: A latching assembly for use on a pick-up truck, and particularly on a truck bed cover configured to sit over a truck bed section is provided. The latching assembly includes an electronic release assembly and a mechanical override system. An electronic release assembly includes a first rod coupled to a first electronic actuator and a second rod coupled to a second electronic actuator. The electronic release assembly also includes a first electronic actuator that selectively moves the first latch catch and the second electronic actuator that selectively moves the second latch catch. A switch is engaged to send a signal to the first and second electronic actuators to cause the first and second latch catches to disengage from the truck bed section. The first and second rods and the first and second electronic actuators also serve as part of a mechanical override system that selectively unlatches at least a portion of the truck bed cover from the truck bed section.
