Abstract: Multiple types of applications, electronic forms, electronic forms data instances, network services and, network services are automatically managed by methods and systems. The methods and systems allow organizations with a mobile workforce that relies on established business processes to execute timely and secure exchange of information while providing easy to use, fast, accurate and flexible information capture capability in the field. These organizations and/or third-party providers may optimize the design of mobile applications to better match existing corporate processes and forms in order to reflect existing business needs, preferred graphical user interfaces, processes and experiences on the mobile devices.

Abstract: A method for defining and constraining the behavior of a shared, mobile content management system is disclosed. The method includes providing an admin console for defining, modifying, and managing declarative policies. Declarative policies are defined based on an XML policy model. The XML policy model dictates the policies that can be expressed by the admin console. The defined declarative policies are enacted without requiring the content management system to be restarted, reconfigured, or re-implemented. An XML-based policy wizard definition language is provided to define policy wizards in the admin console that guide an administrator through the steps of creating and editing the policies. Additionally, at least one policy repository based on LDAP is provided. The at least one policy repository has an interface and is adapted to store a plurality of declarative policies. The policy repository has scalable and distributed capabilities.

Abstract: A content management system and method are disclosed having one or more shared file systems located on one or more networks having a firewall. The content management system includes an explorer client, a mounting client, and a gateway. The gateway is in communication with both the explorer client and the mounting client. The explorer client forms a profile of a user device by determining the characteristics of the user device. The mounting client determines the capabilities of the one or more file systems and where content resides on each of the one or more file systems. The gateway then creates a virtual abstraction layer based on the profile of the user device and the capabilities of the one or more file systems.

Abstract: A system for capturing data via an extensible markup language form is disclosed comprising a policy-based mobile content engine, a mobile-forms application client, and a transport engine. The policy-based mobile content engine is adapted to process a plurality of definitions from one or more mobile-forms application definition files. The policy-based mobile content engine translates the mobile-forms application definitions into policies and actions enforced by the policy-based mobile content engine. The mobile-forms application client has a plurality of rendering engines targeted for a mobile user device to render form controls and to process the forms-based application. The mobile-forms application client is operable on a mobile user device and is adapted to capture the data as an extensible-markup-language document.

The collected data record is submitted to a remote server. At least some of the data in the collected data record is displayed in real-time relative to the submission of the collected data record via an interface.
