  • Publication number: 20070180660
Abstract: An apparatus on a textile machine for cleaning fibre material has a first roller for conveying a travelling fibre web, and second and third rollers which have respective nips with one another and with the first roller on rotation of the three rollers. The second roller is arranged downstream of the third roller and co-operates with the first roller so that fibre is detached, the fibre is transferred to the nip with the third roller and conveyed by the third roller to the nip with the first roller. The rollers have clothing with tips which are inclined in the direction of rotation. To improve the cleaning the front angle a of the tips of the second roller is about from 10° to 50° and the clothing gaps may be large to obtain a higher filling volume for fibres.

  • Publication number: 20070180670
Abstract: An apparatus on a carding machine has a covering comprising work and cover elements lying opposite the clothing of a high-speed cylinder. There is, in succession, an air exhaust opening for the exit of air and an opening for entry of air, past which openings a flow of fibres and air is passed. To allow improved detachment and elimination of short fibres in a simple manner, the spacing of the covering upstream of the exhaust opening is smaller than the spacing of the covering between air exhaust opening and air inlet opening and an airflow flows against the direction of rotation of the cylinder along the surface of the cylinder and flows with short fibres through the air exhaust opening.

  • Patent number: 7251863
Abstract: A draw frame for textile fiber slivers has a drawing system of successively arranged assemblies of rollers comprising a bottom and a top roller, in which, during operation, the top rollers are pressed against the bottom rollers by weighted pressing devices. When operation is suspended, the bearings of the top rollers are relieved of the weighting by the pressing devices. On interruption to continuous operation the top output roller or the top output rollers is/are capable of being relieved of loading in such a way that no or only slight pressure is exerted on the fiber slivers. To avoid or reduce undesirable formation of windings in a simple manner, resiliently loaded elements that lift the top roller bearings after the pressing devices have been relieved of loading are associated with the bearings of at least one top roller.

  • Publication number: 20070163086
Abstract: An apparatus on a spinning preparation machine for monitoring and/or adjusting clearances at components has a clothed, high-speed roller located facing at least one clothed and/or unclothed component and the clearance between the components facing one another is alterable. The roller and opposed component(s) are electrically isolated with respect to one another and are connected as contact elements to an electrical power supply line in which a measuring device for ascertaining contact is located. In order to avoid an undesirably heavy contact between the components, electric signals are emitted upon contacts with the clothing of the roller and the measuring device is arranged quantitatively to determine the contacts.
