  • Patent number: 6209399
Abstract: A pressure sensor suitable for use in automotive applications is provided to sense the pressure of a pressurized fluid medium and generate an electrical signal representative of the sensed pressure on a set of electrical contact members. A main housing body has a fluid supply opening adapted to conduct a pressurized fluid medium into the housing body. A pressure measuring cell is provided including a plastic measuring cell housing and an electric pressure sensor arranged on the plastic measuring cell housing. The pressure measuring cell is disposed on the housing body of the pressure sensor apparatus adjacent the fluid supply opening so that at least part of the electric pressure sensor is acted upon by the pressurized fluid medium. A reinforcement plate member is adapted to engage a back side of the pressure measuring cell to hold the pressure measuring cell in place relative to the main housing body against the pressure of the pressurized fluid medium.

  • Patent number: 6183286
Abstract: A lamp socket system 1 is provided for mounting an associated lamp 20, 20′ by holding a base 15 of the lamp through engagement between a set of connection pins 8, 8′ extending outwardly from the lamp base and a set of bayonet catch contacts 17, 18. The lamp socket includes a main housing body 2 and a substantially cylindrical coding ring 3, 3′ selectively connectable with the housing. The cylindrical coding ring 3 includes a set of recesses 10, 10′ arranged on an inner circumference of the coding ring at positions corresponding with positions of the set of connection pins 8, 8′ extending from the associated lamp socket base 15. The set of recesses 10, 10′ are adapted to receive the set of bayonet catch contacts 17, 18 associated with the lamp socket. A plurality of cylindrical coding rings are provided for selective connection with the main housing body to provide a convertible lamp socket system.

  • Patent number: 6115888
Abstract: A plastic holding strap is provided for bundling elongate objects and fastening the elongate bundled objects to an associated support member. The holding strap includes a first holding element adapted for connection onto the associated support member. An elongate profiled strap element extends from the first holding element for encircling and fastening a first bundle of associated elongate objects onto the holding element for connection in turn to an associated support member. In order to provide additional holding capability and to enable a wider range of application of the plastic holding strap, a second holding element is provided for selective intermatable attachment onto the first holding element. The second holding element defines at least one receiving area for selective connection to one or more associated articles in addition to the items fastened to the first holding element.

  • Patent number: 6118089
Abstract: A steering column switch unit (1) includes a housing (3) in which at least one operating lever (9) is tiltably and/or displaceably retained, for which, during installation, different operating lever types with respective contact device are installable, whereby the steering column switch unit (1) in housing (3) has a reverse contact device with a pre-defined maximum number of switching functions, and whereby the employed choice of switching functions depends upon the type of the installable operating lever (9) and its contact device.

  • Patent number: 6105908
Abstract: A retainer strap for fastening tubular objects to associated support structures includes a bearing region adapted for connecting the strap to an associated support structure, an elongate strap element having a plurality of catch teeth arranged along the strap element and a holding region formed on a first end of the elongate strap element for selectively receiving and holding the second end of the strap element therein. A breakable hinge member formed integrally with the retainer strap during manufacture initially connects the bearing region directly to the strap element. The breakable hinge is selectively manually severable to permit relative slidable movement of the bearing region on the strap element to enable a selectable relative distance between the bearing region and the holding region so that the retainer strap can be used in a wide variety of applications.

  • Patent number: 6039523
Abstract: An adjustable connector system is provided between a support (2), specifically a body part of a motor vehicle and a plate element, specifically a door covering. The connector system includes a connector member having with an upper portion (3) attachable to the plate element and a lower portion (4) connectable with the support (2). Between upper piece (3) and lower piece (4) there is provided a neck-shaped intermediary region (5), fitted with locking elements (10). An anterior region of the intermediary region is adapted to traverse an engagement piece (12) embeddable in a support opening (7). Interference between the intermediary region and the engagement piece urges the intermediary region to spread radially outwardly behind the support opening (7).

  • Patent number: 6029105
Abstract: The method for recording and monitoring of a partial space, specifically for determination of space occupancy in a vehicle and therefrom derivable activation and/or switching of accessory devices provides for the radiation of ultra sound from a sensor (5) with transmitter and receiver in the direction of the partial space. The return beam signal supplied by the receiver is passed to an evaluation unit and analyzed. Dependent thereon, accessory devices can be activated and/or switched. The sensor for the partial space (12) employs several transmitters (6) and several receivers (7). The return signals are recorded with respect to travel time difference, thus with respect to distance and/or with respect to signal contour determined by the amplitudes and evaluated with respect to object contour in the partial space (12).
