  • Patent number: 5898986
Abstract: To align an aperture (16) in a nut (12) with a hole (18) in a threaded stud (14), the nut (12) is rotated on the stud (14) to move the aperture (16) over the hole (18). Light is projected into the aperture (16) as the aperture (16) approaches the hole (18). The light is sensed when it projects from the aperture (16) through the hole (18) upon movement of the aperture (16) into alignment with the hole (18). Rotation of the nut (12) is stopped in response to sensing of the light.

  • Patent number: 4879878
Abstract: A food compartment (I) and a freezer compartment (II) are both cooled by an evaporator coil mounted in the freezer compartment. An air damper assembly selectively allows cold air to flow from the freezer compartment to the food compartment to maintain a selected temperature in the food compartment. The air damper assembly includes a damper door (101) which is slidably mounted to a housing (110) to provide sufficient motive force to drive the damper door to one of the open and closed positions. The damper door is frictionally retained in the selected one of the opened and closed positions until a like momentary electrical pulse is applied to the other coil to drive the damper door to the other position. Optionally, momentary pulses may be applied intermittently to the same coil to assure that the door remains in the selected opened or closed position.

  • Patent number: 4816823
Abstract: An application specific integrated circuit device for cooperating with a microprocessor and an input and read out station, providing timing functions, input data receipt and storage for transmition to the microprocessor, and for receiving, storing and acting upon information received from the microprocessor. The several functions which can be achieved by the circuit are carried out on command from the microprocessor using a single serial data path.
