A suction port formed on a lower side of the pump chamber draws liquid into the pump chamber. An impeller draws air through the air passage and liquid through the suction port. An ejection passage ejects the air and liquid. The impeller includes a main plate portion to cover a connection port connecting the air passage to the pump chamber. A vane portion protrudes downward from a lower surface of the main plate portion on the suction port side. The main plate portion has a cut-out part connecting the air passage and the pump chamber, and a groove part recessed from an upper surface of the main plate portion toward the lower surface and extending from an inner peripheral side toward an outer peripheral side of the main plate portion.

    Abstract: A submersible aerator has an impeller which includes blades having partition walls which separate liquid passages and air passages and which is accommodated within a guide casing for rotation between a lower surface of an intermediate plate having an air suction opening and an upper surface of a suction cover having a liquid suction opening. Intermediate blades are provided at radially outer ends of the liquid passages. A conical space is defined between the blade lower end surfaces and the suction cover upper surface such that the space, which is wide at a portion adjacent to the liquid suction opening, becomes narrower toward a radially outward region including guide vane tongues. A plurality of support legs and a plurality of straining projections are integrally formed on the lower surface of a peripheral portion of a bottom wall of the guide casing.

The apparatus prevents lubrication oil from scattering from the center portion of the oil chamber of the submersible pump toward the circumferential wall, and prevents entrapment of air into the lubrication oil through formation of an oil film in the oil outlet, irrespective of variation in rotational speed of the pump shaft, so that the seal apparatus is lubricated and cooled effectively.
