  • Patent number: 6338232
Abstract: A waterproof sheet fixing member for fixing a waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet on a structure to be waterproofed, includes a plate-like main member made of thermoplastic resin, and a conductive multi-aperture sheet having an upper surface and a lower surface. The conductive multi-aperture sheet has a plurality of joining apertures each communicating the upper surface with the lower surface, and is integrally provided in the main member. A method of fixing the waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet includes the steps of fixing the fixing member on a surface of the structure, spreading the waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet on the surface of the structure, and induction heating the conductive multi-aperture sheet via the waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet to melt a portion where the main member contacts the waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet. Thus, the main member is integrally welded to the waterproof thermoplastic resin sheet.

  • Patent number: 6024904
Abstract: An antifogging window plate has a transparent film and a base both made of thermoplastic resins. Conductive lines and electrodes are printed using a conductive paste on one side of the film, which is then bonded to the base. One portion of each electrode is exposed as a terminal portion to be connected to an electric contact member. The window plate is made by injection molding with the surface of the film opposite from the printed surface being in contact with the cavity wall of the mold, so that the integration of the film with the base is effected simultaneously with the forming of base. Each contact member is subsequently fitted in an injection-molded void facing the terminal portion, or is secured in place at the same time as the injection molding.

  • Patent number: 5962309
Abstract: A microorganism holding carrier for a fluidized bed is provided that includes an extruded foamed article having continuous cells and independent cells. The article is composed of a polyolefin resin as a main component. The continuous cells include open-cells which are opened to at least two portions of a surface of the article and a semi-open cell which are opened to only one portion of the surface of the article. A ratio of the total volume of the continuous cells to the total volume of the extruded foamed article (a volume ratio of the continuous cells) falls within a range of from 20% to 70%. Further, a ratio of the total volume of the open-cells to the total volume of the continuous cells (a volume ratio of open-cells) is 20% or more. The article may have an apparent density of 0.90 to 1.80 g/cm.sup.3 and an apparent volume from 2.0.times.10.sup.-3 to 5.0 cm.sup.3, and be in the shape of a column, or a tube having an outer diameter of 2 to 20 mm and a thickness of 5 to 30% of the outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 5789057
Abstract: A method for molding a sheet blow molding, wherein a board member as a core of the sheet blow molding is placed between a pair of thermoplastic sheets facing each other and separated by a predetermined distance. Opposite ends of the sheets are clamped by dampers so as to form clamped sheets with a closed space between the clamped sheets. The clamped sheets are heated by a heater and air is supplied to the closed space. The clamped sheets are pressed between molds so as to cover all outer surfaces of the board member and to be thermally bonded to the board member.

  • Patent number: 5766739
Abstract: A panel is composed of synthetic resins and coated with an antifogging layer, the panel having a plastics substrate formed as a board or film or molded into any desired shape. The panel further has a heat generating pattern as the antifogging layer formed on the substrate and composed of a conductive paste, and a hard coat covering the layer and mainly composed of a silicone resin. The conductive paste is composed of a resinous binder, a conductive agent and a solvent, and the binder is selected from a group consisting of (i) a saturated polyester, (ii) a mixture of the polyester and a polyvinyl chloride, (iii) a mixture of the polyester and a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, and (iv) a mixture of the polyester, the polyvinyl chloride and the copolymer. The heat generating pattern layer protects the resin panel from fogging, and the hard coat enhances scratch resistance and weather resistance to the panel.

  • Patent number: 4980223
Abstract: A forming sheet for forming an article such as a housing for an electronic device having a shieldability against electromagnetic interference. It is made by laminating a conductive laminated sheet to a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet through a hot melt adhesive layer. The conductive laminated sheet is formed by subjecting to heat shrinkage a substrate comprising a metallic film and a heat-shrinkable synthetic resin film laminated together through a discontinuous bonding layer. The conductive layer is less liable to crack due to stress applied during forming.
