Patent number: 4929825Abstract: A pulsimeter comprises a pulse sensor portion including a light emitting diode and a photodiade, and a main body, the pulse sensor portion and the main body being connected through a cord. The main body includes a received light comparing circuit for comparing a quantity of light received by the photodiode with a predetermined valve, and a display device for displaying a result of the comparison. If there is no abnormality in the cord and the pulse sensor portion in normal condition is not in contact with a human body, the quantity of received light in increased to cause a light emitting diode of the display device to be turned on. On the other hand, if there is any abnormality in the cord or the pulse sensor portion, the quantity of received light is not increased and the light emitting diode is not turned on. While the pulsimeter in normal condition is being used, the light emitting diode is not turned on because of light transmission through the human body.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1988Date of Patent: May 29, 1990Assignee: Tsuyama Mfg. Patent number: 4642606Abstract: A running data display unit (1) for a bicycle calculates running data such as running speed, running distance, average speed, maximum speed etc. of a bicycle, based on pulse signals from a revolution detecting portion (3). This calculation is performed by a microcomputer incorporated in the display unit. The running data obtained by the calculation are displayed in a digital form on a liquid crystal display panel (15). The panel (15) gives display of a speed unit km/h or mile/h selectively. This display of km/h (or mile/h) emits a winking light when the microcomputer measures determined running data such as the running distance, the average speed etc. and emits uninterrupted light when measuring of such running data is stopped. As a result, the rider of the bicycle can immediately ascertain whether measuring operation is being made or not.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1985Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: Tsuyama Mfg. Patent number: 4636769Abstract: A running data display unit (1) for a bicycle calculates running data such as running speed, running distance, average speed, maximum speed etc. of a bicycle, based on pulse signals from a revolution detecting portion (3). This calculation is performed by a microcomputer incorporated in the display unit. The running data obtained by the calculation are displayed in a digital form on a liquid crystal display panel (15). The liquid crystal panel (15) also makes display of a pulse mark (26). The display of the pulse mark (26) turns on and off alternately at the rise of the pulse applied normally from the revolution detecting portion (3). As a result, by the display of the pulse mark (26), the rider of the bicycle can ascertain normal operation of the display unit (1), particularly normal operation of the revolution detecting portion (3).Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignee: Tsuyama Mfg. Patent number: 4633216Abstract: A running data display unit (1) for a bicycle calculates running data such as running speed, running distance, average speed, maximum speed etc. of a bicycle, based on pulse signals from a revolution detecting portion (3). This calculation is performed by a microcomputer incorporated in the display unit. The running data obtained by the calculation are displayed in a digital form on a liquid crystal display panel (15). If the running data displayed on the panel (15) is the running distance, the running distance is represented as a numerical value including five figures at maximum. The running distance not attaining 1000 km (or miles) is represented down to two decimal places and when the running distance attains 1000 km (or miles), the manners of display is automatically by the microcomputer (30) changed so that display is made down to only the decimal place.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1985Date of Patent: December 30, 1986Assignee: Tsuyama Mfg.
