Abstract: This invention relates to a high pressure sodium vapor discharge lamp the discharge space of which is enclosed by a ceramic vessel having hermetically sealed ceramic end members with electric lead wires connected with electrodes inside the discharge vessel and the discharge vessel contains sodium, noble gas, mercury in a concentration of 0-5 mg/cm.sup.3 and at least one further metal additive having a vapor pressure not exceeding 7.5 torr at 1000K temperature. The discharge lamp according to the invention is further characterized in that the molar fraction of sodium in the total metal additive exceeds 0.5 and the molar fraction of sodium is greater than four times the molar fraction of mercury.

Abstract: A double profile drawing tool includes a mandrel having a profile drawing die formed therein with first and second portions extending in opposite directions, associated therewith. The mandrel is disposed in a supported surrounding manner within a structure including a housing body and an embedding component. The embedding component is securely fixed within the housing body by way of a support plate which is joined to the housing body in a shrink fit manner. The structure formed by the housing body, support plate, with the mandrel and embedding component contained therein, is then securely mounted within a U-shaped outer housing member. First and second tapered openings are formed on opposite sides and along the longitudinal axis of the double profile drawing tool, such tapered openings providing communication to the first and second portions of the profile drawing die from opposite directions.

Abstract: A single-ended low pressure discharge lamp having an Edison base includes at least one U-shaped fluorescent tube having electrode leads which are connected to a ballast arrangement disposed in a housing base. The housing base has an upper part on which the fluorescent tubes are mounted, a connecting part on which a threaded base is mounted and a supporting part formed between the upper part and the connecting part. Lead-in wires are connected from the ballast arrangement to the threaded base in a manner to facilitate automated assembly of the lamp. A first lead in wire connects to the central portion of the threaded base whereas a second lead-in wire connects to the sleeve portion after first passing through a guided opening formed in the housing base between the supporting part and the connecting part.
