Patent number: 9567192Abstract: An oscillation damper for vibration drivers for suspension from a load-bearing means displays a damping body connected on its opposite end faces to pressure bodies which are variable in their spacing, having a rigid support element which is assigned to the load-bearing means and a rigid support element which is assigned to the vibration driver. The two support elements are connected in an articulated manner by way of flexible ties to each pressure body. The longitudinal axes of the ties form in each case an acute angle with the vertical that decreases as tensile force increases, on account of which high tensile forces can be introduced onto the damping body. Simultaneously with the churning operation of the damping body a pendulum movement of the laterally disposed pressure bodies about the articulations of the ties takes place, on account of which vertical oscillation is largely eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2014Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: TUNKERS MASCHINENBAU GMBHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tuenkers

Patent number: 8967034Abstract: The invention relates to an energy-efficient apparatus driven by compressed air and equipped with a dual piston function for tensioning, or clamping, or centering, or punching, or welding, or clinching, for use in body construction in the automotive industry. The apparatus is driven by a pressurized fluid, in particular by compressed air. It is shown how a significant amount of operating costs can be saved while, at the same time, conserving the environment and consuming a low amount of pressurized fluid, in particular compressed air. In addition, the pivoting angle of a toggle joint assembly and thus of an apparatus connected thereto, for example, a tensioning arm of a toggle tensioning apparatus, can be continuously adjusted in both directions while, at the same time, adjusting a sampling device using sensors, for example, microswitches, or inductive switches, or pneumatic switches, or limit switches.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2009Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tünkers

Patent number: 8100046Abstract: The invention demonstrates how energy saving working cylinders are loaded with fluid under pressure in order, for example, to power devices for tensioning (toggle joint tensioning apparatus), and/or compressing and/or jointing and/or stamping and/or embossing and/or punching and/or welding, if necessary, under the interposition of gearing parts such as guides, parallelogram gears, toggle joint articulations or the like, with the fluid supply being controlled in such a way during the no-load stroke (idle stroke) of the piston (4) that only the forces of inertia and/or weight and/or the forces of friction of moveable parts are overcome and pressure is not applied from the fluid until the power stroke of the piston (4).Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2007Date of Patent: January 24, 2012Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tünkers

Patent number: 7066459Abstract: The invention relates to a toggle lever clamping device, specifically, for use in vehicle body manufacturing in the automobile industry, wherein the rod acting as a piston rod is provided at its end section facing a toggle joint system with a thread by which the rod may be screwed a greater or lesser distance within a sleeve-like component of a linkage element, specifically, a fork head, in order to change the opening angle of a clamping arm. Adjustment of the opening angle may be effected without disassembling the toggle lever clamping device, specifically, for example, by inserting a tool, especially a screwdriver, through a hole in the base cover so as to rotate the piston rod left or right about its longitudinal axis in order to adjust the opening angle. Undesirable rotation is prevented by using a guide plate. A ball screw may also be employed in place of the thread.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2002Date of Patent: June 27, 2006Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tunkers

Patent number: 6845975Abstract: An implement comprising a head part and a drive part adjoining the head part in a longitudinal direction. The drive part is associated with an actuating member which is drivable in opposite directions. The actuating member is coupled to a toggle lever mechanism via which mechanism an arm of a toggle-lever device is drivable.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2002Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tünkers

Patent number: 6220588Abstract: A toggle clamping device or piston-cylinder unit including mechanism for adjusting the opening angle of the clamping arm. Within the cylinder there are a number of interrogator devices that function to determine the position of pistons within the cylinder and transmit this information to a micro processor. The location of the interrogator devices can be adjusted. Also within the cylinder there are damping mechanism, the location of which can also be adjusted. When the toggle clamping device is in use, the opening angle of the clamping arm, the final-position of the interrogator devices and the final-position of the damping mechanism can be adjusted and locked simultaneously and jointly through a single adjusting element from the outside of the device without dismantling the toggle clamping device.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tünkers

Patent number: 6102383Abstract: The invention relates to a combined centering and clamping device that is actuatable by a pressure medium, and is especially useful in auto body building industry. Through this invention, large-area clamping of the work product around the circumference of the centering part is possible. This large area clamping produces not only favorable force distribution but also large-area, reliable centering around the centering part, which allows the work product to be locked together with high precision. This invention is especially advantageous in building auto bodies in the automotive industry.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1998Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tunkers

Patent number: 5845897Abstract: A toggle lever clamp device for automobile body fabrication comprises a clamp housing (1) having a rectangularly shaped cross section wherein the cross-section is taken at a right angle to an axial direction of the housing. The housing is comprised of two parts (12, 13) and has a slot (19) on a rear side thereof that extends in the axial direction. The toggle lever clamp device further includes a cylinder (2) coupled to an end of the housing in the axial direction, a piston (6) axially located in the cylinder so that pressure can be exerted alternately on either side thereof, a piston rod (7) coupled to the piston (6) and extending axially through a part of the cylinder (2) and into a hollow space in the clamp housing (1); and a toggle lever joint arrangement (10) secured to a free end of the piston rod (7). An integral replaceable monitoring cassette (20) forms a cover in the area of a slot (19).Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1997Date of Patent: December 8, 1998Assignee: Tunkers Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Josef-Gerhard Tunkers
