Abstract: A live media content switching system receives a plurality of live input streams associated with a plurality of live input stream manifests. One or more events in a first live input stream manifest of the plurality of live input stream manifests are identified. The first live input stream manifest is associated with a first live input stream of the plurality of live input streams being viewed at a consumer device. Based on the identification, information related to a plurality of first media segments and the one or more events from the first live input stream indicated in the first live input stream manifest is inserted into a first disparate live media output stream manifest based on a programming schedule. The first disparate live media output stream of a plurality of disparate live media output streams is published for the consumer device based on the first live input stream manifest.

The graphics object is a data structure comprising predetermined fields and predetermined structure information. User input selecting a first selectable option is received. The user input is received via the graphics building interface. At least one pathname corresponding to the first selectable option is identified. The graphics object is updated based on the at least one pathname and the first selectable option. The updated of the graphics object comprises updating two or more fields of the predetermined set of fields. One of the fields is updated at least in part by populating the field with the pathname. The pathname indicates a file, a location within the file, or both where a content item corresponding to the first selectable option is stored.

Abstract: A media content packaging and distribution system that generates a plurality of disparate live media output streams to be viewed on a plurality of consumer devices, receives a programming schedule for a channel from a network scheduler. The programming schedule corresponds to at least a first manifest associated with a first pre-encoded media asset. Information related to a plurality of first media segments and one or more events from the first pre-encoded media asset indicated in the first manifest is inserted into a live output stream manifest at defined intervals. A disparate live media output stream, to be viewed by a consumer device for a channel via a media player, is generated based on the insertion of the information related to the plurality of first media segments from the first pre-encoded media asset indicated in the first manifest into the live output stream manifest.

Abstract: A system is provided for publishing first programming schedule that references at least one or more pre-encoded media assets and/or one or more live input streams, and comprises one or more playout buffer features enabled via one or more constraints and rights. A request is received that comprises at least a stream identifier and at least an additional parameter. The interactive advertisement is associated with interactive advertisement data comprising a related content identifier identifying a related content object. Before a commercial segment begins, a list of commercials to be provided during the commercial segment is received comprising the commercial identifier. After determining that the commercial associated with the interactive advertisement is to be provided during the commercial segment and responsive to determining that the commercial segment is eligible for hosting the interactive advertisement, providing at least a portion of the interactive advertisement data, the portion of the interactive advertisement data configured to provide access to the related content object.

Abstract: A personalized, location-based experience of consuming a media event is provided. A user computing entity comprising a processor, memory, network interface configured to communicate via at least one network, and location sensor identifies a media event that a user is expected to want to consume. The user computing entity determines a current location of the user computing entity. The user computing entity identifies a stream providing audio and/or video data corresponding to the media event available at the current location based at least in part on (a) event information corresponding to the media event and (b) the current location. The user computing entity identifies an audio/video device located within close proximity of the user computing entity; and provides a communication comprising a command to the audio/video device. The processing of the communication by the audio/video device causes the audio/video device to provide audio and/or video data of the stream.

Abstract: A television playout system provided in a broadcast provider system receives a playout schedule, which corresponds to a live video feed of a channel broadcasted to one or more multichannel video program distributors (MVPDs), from a playout schedule source, and generates a new channel comprising one or more video on demand (VOD) content assets, based on one or more scheduling rules of the playout schedule, to be transmitted to a plurality of MVPDs at a time specified in the received playout schedule. The received live video feed of the channel is sanitized by removal of a lower third graphical content overlay from the live video feed for the generation of the new channel. A discontinuity is inserted between program segments to allow dynamic ad insertion (DAI) within the program segments of the live video feed for the new channel.

Abstract: A hardware media content packaging and distribution system that handles distribution of one or more channels to be viewed on one or more of a plurality of consumer devices, receives a media feed and a first programming schedule of a first channel of the one or more channels from a source device. Instructions are received from a programming service and/or a user-preference is received from a first consumer device of the plurality of consumer devices on which the first channel is viewed. Based on content context analysis, one or more other live feeds of other channels of the one or more channels or pre-encoded media assets, are analyzed. Based on the content context analysis, a media item is recommended to be inserted in the media feed of the first channel, based on the received user-preference. The recommended media item is dynamically scheduled in the media feed of the first channel to be delivered over a distribution system to be viewed on the first consumer device based on the content context analysis.

Abstract: Technologies for generating a point-of-view video of a user include determining whether a mobile communication device is positioned in a reference point-of-view position relative to a body of the user and, if so, initiating recording of a video without direction from the user. The point-of-view position may be defined as, for example, a position near the chest of the user. The recording of the video is initiated automatically in response to the user moving the mobile communication device to the point-of-view position. The recording may occur for a pre-defined reference length of time. The recorded video may be automatically uploaded to a remote video server upon competition of the recording. The remote server may aggregate associated videos into a stack and transmit stacks of recorded videos to the mobile communication device. Upon viewing a stack of associated videos, the stack of videos may be automatically deleted from the mobile communication device.

Abstract: A television playout system that handles playout of a channel, receives a video feed of the channel comprising programming data and a plurality of interstitial content items, and a playout schedule of the channel. Metadata comprising a pre-roll value is inserted at a first insertion point related to a first interstitial content item of the plurality of interstitial content items, based on the playout schedule. An offset is detected in the metadata, based on the first insertion point of the metadata in the video feed, the pre-roll value, and a time-code (TC) jump associated with a second interstitial content item in the video feed. One or more control parameters associated with the insertion of the metadata are calibrated, based on the detected offset to align a splice point related to the first interstitial content item with the TC jump associated with the second interstitial content item.

Abstract: A media content packaging and distribution system that handles the distribution of one or more channels, receives a programming schedule of a channel of the one or more channels which includes one or more content placement opportunities (CPOs). At least a CPO from the one or more CPOs, associated metadata, and one or more channel parameters of the channel is communicated to an exchange system to facilitate a bidding procedure to populate the CPO with a media item related to a winning bid in the bidding procedure. The media item related to the winning bid is dynamically inserted at a specified position in a media feed associated with the CPO. A resultant media feed that includes the media item is distributed over a distribution network to be viewed on one or more consumer devices. The media item inserted in the resultant media feed is selected by a bidder associated with the winning bid based on an outcome of the bidding procedure in the exchange system.

Abstract: A live content distribution device that dynamically generates video-on-demand (VOD) assets for multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), receives a live video feed, a plurality of triggers, and metadata from a broadcast provider system over a communication network. The live content distribution device is provided in a MVPD system. A plurality of segments are determined in the received live video feed based on the received plurality of triggers and metadata. One or more VOD content assets are dynamically generated based on a package for playout to one or more servers communicatively coupled with the MVPD system. The package includes one or more of the determined plurality of segments and metadata associated with the determined plurality of segments.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for increasing media consumption. The present invention can provide viewers increased access to content of interest across various platforms, such as online articles, online audio and video clips, and television and radio broadcasts. In an embodiment, an individual viewing content online, such as a news article, is given a link. The link provides the viewer access to a list of content related to the article being viewed. The related content is not limited to the platform related content across, and allows the user to view the content, automatically set the content to be recorded by a digital video recorder, or reserve the content for future viewing. By providing the user with convenient access to content across platforms, they are more given media content of interest. Accordingly, viewership of this content will increase through this connection of individuals with content that aligns with their interests.
