    Abstract: Methods for treating infectious diseases in persons are provided. A person having an infectious disease may be vaccinated with a vaccine designed to induce an immune response against an infectious agent causing the infectious disease. Primed T-lymphocytes are removed from the person and the primed T-lymphocytes are stimulated to differentiate into effector T-lymphocytes in vitro. The effector T-lymphocytes are stimulated to proliferate, in vitro, and the effector T-lymphocytes are infused back into the person.
