  • Patent number: 11321973
Abstract: A method for vehicle diagnostics includes receiving vehicle information from a vehicle computer system and identifying, at the data processing hardware, at least one vehicle module from the vehicle information. The at least one vehicle module represents a detected fault of the vehicle computer system. The method also includes executing a diagnostic program configured to display on a display screen a graphical user interface having a fault topology window associated with at least one detected fault of the at least one vehicle module. The fault topology window has a vehicle information panel and a fault topology view panel. The diagnostic program is configured to receive a detected fault selection input of the at least one detected fault of the at least one vehicle module and display a fault topology view of the at least one detected fault of the at least one vehicle module.

  • Patent number: 9679423
Abstract: An asset authoring and delivery system generates a number of authored assets. Each of the authored assets includes a number of asset content objects that are logically associated with one or more components included in the item of manufacture. The authored assets generated by the asset authoring and delivery system are formatted and communicated to one or more remote devices logically associated with the item of manufacture. Authored assets may be provided responsive to one or more sensed characteristics, for instance vehicle operational parameters, vehicle operation and/or driver behavior, and may be customized to a make and/or model of vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20140068713
Abstract: Network communications, Web-based services and customized services using the Web-based services may be provided to drivers and users via the automobile head unit in the vehicle and via their mobile device. The automobile head unit in the vehicle and the mobile device are communicatively linked via a short range wireless connection. Also, these devices may communicate over a network such as a cellular network to a service provider that provides entertainment and informational services to the mobile device and the head unit of the vehicle. The user's profile and preferences are able to follow the user to various locations and into vehicles because this information is stored at a server accessible by the user's mobile device, and in some embodiments, also the head unit. The mobile device may provide services to the head unit if it does not have wider network connectivity over the short range wireless connection.

  • Publication number: 20130232218
Abstract: Network communications, Web-based services and customized services using the Web-based services may be provided over a peer-to-peer network from a first peer to a second peer (e.g., automobile head unit) wherein the first peer has a separate connection to a more general server-based network such as the Internet. A communications device application based on a peer communications framework component in communication with a peer network stack on the communications device may work as middleware, with a connection to both a more general server-based network such as the Internet and to an external device, such as a head unit of an automobile. Although the communications device has a separate connection out to the Internet via a general network stack co-existing on the same communications device, the peer network stack and the general network stack are not directly connected.
