Abstract: A self-retaining catheter assembly is provided which includes a first and second catheter and a retaining sleeve. The first and second catheters each have an exterior surface and an interior surface defining a lumen which extends longitudinally through the catheter. The first catheter has a proximal portion which is for placement within a first subcutaneous area, and the second catheter has a proximal portion which is for placement within a second subcutaneous area. The first and second catheters also each have distal portions for placement within an area to be catheterized. The retaining sleeve is positioned around a portion of the exterior surfaces of the catheters which is located proximal to the distal portions of the catheters.
