  • Patent number: 6379785
Abstract: A substrate, preferably silicon, or other suitable material has a layer of glass material disposed thereon. The glass material of the present disclosure has a substantially increased uniformity due to the reduction in bubbles as well as a relatively smooth top surface. By virtue of the reduction in the number and size of the bubbles in the glass the dielectric properties of the glass are more uniform. Additionally, the fact that the surface of the glass is much more smooth reduces the potential of prior structures to have an unacceptably thin glass layer due to the need to grind the surface smooth.

  • Patent number: 6247966
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector 2 which can be positioned in a shroud 70 that can be actuated by a lever 72 to mate with a pin header connector 4. Contact terminals 10 located in cavities 30 in a molded housing 20 are held in place by primary latching members that comprise molded deflectable cantilever latches 50. The latches 50 are part of external housing faces 28. During insertion and removal of the contacts 10, the latches are outwardly deflected. A stop shoulder 54 on the front of each latch 50 is opposed to a fixed shoulder 40 to prevent excess latch deflection and overstressing of the plastic. The latch stop shoulders 54 are formed on inner corners of a frame 60 located on the distal or front end 52 of the cantilever latches 50 which define a portion of the housing mating face.

  • Patent number: 6238104
Abstract: The present invention provides a fiber optic connector which allows easy and secure assembly with a fiber optic cable, a supporting member used therein, and a method of assembling the fiber optic connector to the fiber optic cable. A member (41) which is used to fasten reinforcing members (105) extending from the fiber optic cable (100) is disposed in the vicinity of a rear end of an inner housing (40) of fiber optic connector (10). A supporting member (50) is fastened by crimping to an end portion of the fiber optic cable (100). An appropriate stripping operation is performed on the end portion of the fiber optic cable (100) so that optical fiber (150) and the reinforcing members (105) are exposed. Recesses (55a, 55b), which hold the reinforcing members are located in the supporting member (50).

  • Patent number: 6225880
Abstract: The inventive relay has a base body in the form of a coil body (1), the base body supporting a core (16), a yoke (20), an armature (22) and a contact spring (23) which is connected to the armature. Fixed contact supports (34) and a contact spring connection pin (5) which consist of semi-finished wire with a preferably rectangular or square cross-section are embedded in a flange (12) of the coil body (1). The inventive electromagnetic relay is therefore very simple to produce. There is no wasted material, no punching tools are needed for the contact connection parts and since no particles of plastic are abraded by insertion, there is no risk of this impairing the quality of the relay.
