Patents Assigned to Tyco Fire & Security GmbH
  • Patent number: 10388146
Abstract: A number of different approaches are described for minimizing or preventing false alarms. In one case, override panels are used such as locally near or in the protected space or remotely at a security desk, for example. These override panels are used to deactivate or block the generation of a fire alarm signal in the case where the occupants or a management personnel recognizes that the fire alarm signal should not be generated. In this way, an alarm verification step is included. In another aspect, additional, contextual information is used to characterize or adjust when fire alarm signals are generated. This contextual information can be generated from sources that are not typically used in the generation of the fire alarm signal but instead are based on other sources of the information concerning the protected space.

  • Publication number: 20190228626
Abstract: A building sensor node of a sensor network system, wherein the sensor node includes one or more memory devices configured to store instructions thereon, that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to execute a first function to provide a first functionality, wherein the first function is associated with a next function identifier of a next function. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to transition between a number of states of a state machine based on the next function identifier, verify execution of the next function by comparing the next function identifier to a table of allowed transitions receive an additional function from a server, and update the sensor node to provide a second functionality to the sensor node without rebooting the sensor node based on the additional function received from the server.

  • Patent number: 10359771
Abstract: Techniques for detecting changes in operational characteristics of a group of sensor devices are described. The techniques collect sensor information from plural sensor devices deployed in a system, with the collected sensor information including sensor data and sensor device metadata. The techniques continually analyze the collected sensor information to detect changes in the operational characteristics of a sensor device in the group of sensor devices. Upon detection of changes in the operational characteristics of the sensor, a database that stores maintenance organization contact information is accessed and a request is generated for maintenance on the sensor device, which request is sent to the maintenance organization.

  • Publication number: 20190188631
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-sensor tag sale optimization. The methods comprise: analyzing sensor data generated by sensors internal to a tag, coupled to an item of an item set that is being handled by a first individual, to determine if the item was carried to a checkout lane of a retail store; and determining whether a sale conversion for the item occurred. If a sale conversion for the item occurred, performing the following operations: analyzing historical sale transaction information to determine a total number of sales of items in the item set over a first given period of time; comparing the total number of sales to a first threshold value; and causing content displayed on the tag's electronic visual display to be dynamically changed so as to include a sale price for the item, when the total number of sales is less than or equal to the first threshold value.
