  • Patent number: 5709583
Abstract: A radio-controlled vehicle toy is disclosed which includes a body, a caster axle mounted on a front end of the body and tilted backward from vertical, a front fork rotatable on the caster axle and rotatably supporting a front vehicle wheel, a rear-wheel drive coupled with a rear vehicle wheel, a radio-control receiver and a power source mounted to the body, and a pair of auxiliary wheels mounted on opposite sides of the vehicle body frame so as to be brought into contact with an underlying surface when the vehicle body frame leans laterally. A steering unit is mounted in a front-end portion of the body and includes a steering mechanism to rotate the front fork based on a control signal issued from the receiver and a resilient coupling which resiliently applies control torque to the front fork.

  • Patent number: 5667420
Abstract: A vehicle toy has two lateral sides, front and rear ends, an outer perimeter extending around the front and rear ends between the lateral sides, and three pairs of wheels, each pair having a common rotational axis. The wheels of each wheel pair are opposed to one another on the lateral sides. The wheels on each lateral side of the vehicle are arranged in a polygon at the outer perimeter, extending around the front and rear ends between the lateral sides such that adjoining pairs of the wheels define planes which are mutually transverse to one another and which entirely circumscribe the outer perimeter of the vehicle. Two wheel pairs are located proximal the rear end, with one of the two wheel pairs being oriented above the other, and the third wheel pair is located proximal the front end, so that the transverse planes form a triangle. The vehicle is driven by twin electric motors which are radio controlled for remote, independent and separate operation.

  • Patent number: 5474486
Abstract: A remotely controllable, transforming, water squirting toy vehicle includes a structure in the form of a lever arm mounted for pivotal movement with respect to a remainder of the vehicle from a first position in which a surface of the arm is hidden within the vehicle to a second, elevated position in which the hidden surface of the arm is exposed. The hidden surface of the arm bears the likeness of a snake or other creature and includes a nozzle fluidly coupled to a pump and reservoir within the remainder of the vehicle. A control system in the vehicle receives and processes steering and propulsion control signals as well as an arm raising/water pumping control signal. A single actuator controls the movement of the lever arm which is spring loaded, by releasing the lever arm from a latched position and powers the pump driving liquid from the reservoir to the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5157320
Abstract: A battery charger for rapidly charging batteries of different capacity types is controlled by a microprocessor. The microprocessor controller is also connected to a voltage source which is connected to the battery for supplying a charging current to the battery at a current value selected by a user. The controller is also connected to a voltage reference generator which generates a reference voltage equal to a conditioned battery voltage at the beginning of a charging cycle. The reference voltage increases in predetermined voltage increments as the battery voltage increases during the charging cycle until the battery voltage reaches a peak voltage. A comparator compares the conditioned battery voltage to the reference voltage and sends the results of the comparison to the microprocessor controller. The microprocessor controller causes the reference voltage generator to increase the reference voltage by a predetermined voltage increment if the conditioned battery voltage is greater than the reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 5135427
Abstract: A vehicle toy has front wheels and larger rear wheels provided on each of the left and right sides of a two-piece, articulately coupled chassis. Caterpillars are engaged over the front and rear wheels on each side. Twin electric motors separately drive the left and right side caterpillars through separate reduction gear transmissions and the rear wheels. The twin motors are radio controlled for separate and independent operation. Two rings of teeth on each rear wheel mesh with two rows of teeth on the inner side of each caterpillar to provide a cog drive while a higher central row of teeth on the inner side of each caterpillar is received in circumferential grooves in each of the front and rear wheels.

  • Patent number: 5125866
Abstract: An electronic simulated baby bottle toy generates human-like sounds and includes a cylindrically-shaped hollow housing portion with a nipple-shaped member mounted on one end of the housing portion to simulate a nurser bottle. Four microswitches within the toy can be individually activated by applying pressure to the nipple member or to a flexible cover on the side of the housing portion. The switches selectively activate a VLSI synthesizer chip which generates any of four signals. Each signal controls a sound transducer causing the transducer to generate a selected human-like sound.

  • Patent number: 5102133
Abstract: An interrupted inverted jump loop for an electric toy vehicle track, including a first generally arcuate slotted track for launching an electric toy vehicle into the air to carry out an upside-down free-flying jump and a second generally arcuate slotted track spaced from and suitably aligned with the first slotted track for catching the electric toy vehicle after it is traversed through the air. A portion of the first slotted track is electrically powerless for allowing the electric toy vehicle to freely launch towards the second slotted track.

  • Patent number: 5047749
Abstract: An intruder alarm includes a circuit with a photoresistive cell located in a housing with a piezoelectric crystal sound generator and battery to power the circuit and sound generator. A telescope concentrates light from a distance in a limited field of view upon the photoresistive cell to trigger the piezoelectric crystal sound generator when light intensity on the cell changes sufficiently from an ambient light intensity level.

  • Patent number: 5045015
Abstract: A doll having a pair of mechanically driven legs for enabling the doll to move over a surface when held in an upright position. The doll includes a body portion for housing and supporting various elements of the doll. A pair of leg members are mounted on the body portion and extend therefrom for movement with respect to the body portion. A drive mechanism is drivingly connected to the leg members for moving the leg members with respect to the body portion and with respect to each other, such that the doll moves over a surface when held in an upright position. The doll includes a pair of feet positioned which are biased such that when the doll moves over a surface only the toe portions of the feet contact the surface. Additionally, the left arm and head member are drivingly connected to the drive mechanism such that when the leg members move, the head member and left arm member pivotally reciprocate with respect to the body portion to provide the doll with a ballerina-like fluidic motion.
