Patent number: 8251086Abstract: A rotary gate valve includes first and second opposing housing members having coaxial pathways and defining a gate channel when joined together. A gate is positioned within the gate channel when the valve is in a closed position to prevent media from flowing through the pathways and rotationally displaced from the channel when the valve is in an open position to allow media to flow through the pathways. First and second annular primary sealing sleeves are disposed within the first and second housing members and are adapted to sealingly engage each other when the valve is in the open position, and with the gate valve when the valve is in the closed position. A secondary sealing member is disposed around an upper portion of the gate and secured between the housing members above the first and second annular primary sealing sleeves to prevent process media from entering the housing members.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2010Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Tyco Valves & Controls, LPInventors: Johnny Ellis, David Gambetta, John Muran, Viet Nguyen

Patent number: 8215330Abstract: An adjustable automatic recirculation valve includes a valve body, a main valve disk, a bypass valve and a dynamic adjustment assembly. The main valve disk is positioned within the valve body and opens in response to fluid flow between a main inlet and a main outlet. The bypass valve controls the flow of fluid between the main inlet and the recirculating outlet. A dynamic adjustment assembly, housed within the valve body controls the operating lift associated with the maximum opening of the bypass valve to regulate fluid flow capacity to the recirculating outlet.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2010Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Tyco Valves & Controls, LPInventors: Michael D. Patent number: 8056882Abstract: A gate valve includes a pair of opposing housing members, a gate, primary sealing sleeves and a secondary sealing member. The primary sealing sleeves are disposed in each of the housing members. The gate is configured to slidably pass through a transverse gate chamber defined when the housing members are joined together. The secondary sealing member is secured between the housing members and includes at least one passage or aperture configured to allow lubricating fluid to be applied through at least one of the housing members through the secondary sealing member and onto the gate.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2009Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Tyco Valves & Controls LPInventors: Robert Kent Ohlson, David L Gambetta, Christopher Eric Cooper

Patent number: 8028712Abstract: A diaphragm controlled bypass valve includes a diaphragm valve portion and a needle valve portion. The diaphragm valve portion regulates pressurized gas supplied from a pump to determine whether or not to open or close a needle valve. The needle valve portion includes an inlet port, an outlet port and a flow pathway defined between the inlet and outlet ports. A needle pin is disposed within the flow pathway and is coupled to a diaphragm positioned within the diaphragm valve portion. When the diaphragm is displaced in response to changes in pressure, the needle valve pin is likewise displaced which opens and closes the flow pathway. A second flowpath disposed in the needle valve portion communicates with the inlet port to redirect the supply of pressurized gas to a relief port.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2008Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: Tyco Valves & Controls LPInventors: John R. Publication number: 20110061742Abstract: A cryogenic liquid cylinder pressure control manifold is disclosed. The manifold includes, in a unitary arrangement, a pressure build regulator, a pressure build inlet fitting, a pressure build regulator, NPT adapter fitting, a check valve, and a cylinder pressure gauge. The disclosed manifold eliminates various threaded connections associated with prior devices, thus providing a more reliable device having less likelihood to leak in service. The disclosed manifold also reduces labor costs associated with assembling prior systems which are composed of a plurality of different individual components. In one embodiment, the disclosed manifold is employed as a cryogenic CO2 manifold for use in the beverage industry.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2010Publication date: March 17, 2011Applicant: Tyco Valves & Controls LPInventors: William Clinton Osteen, Mark K. Patent number: 7815170Abstract: A knife gate valve includes a reinforced valve seat which prevents displacement of the valve seat when the valve is opened and closed. The valve includes a valve body defined by a first and second body halves. The valve halves are assembled to define a flow path, a knife gate channel and a seat channel. A knife gate is disposed between the body halves and is adapted to traverse the gate channel. The knife gate is configured to be in an open position to allow process flow through the valve and a closed position to prevent process flow through the valve. A seat assembly is positioned within the channel guide and is defined by a horizontal segment, a pair of vertical segments and a lower segment. The seat assembly is compressed between the first and second valve body halves. At least one reinforcing plate is disposed within a portion of the horizontal segment, such that the horizontal segment maintains its rigidity when the knife gate traverses the seat assembly.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2007Date of Patent: October 19, 2010Assignee: Tyco Valves & Controls LPInventors: Donald L.
