Publication number: 20130214530Abstract: A pipe joint between two metallic pipes which have been internally and/or externally coated with a material to prevent corrosion. The pipe joint includes a spigot terminating in an inverted hump supporting an elastomeric seal wherein the inverted hump is spaced from a protruding hump. The pipe joint further includes a socket adapted to fit over the spigot, the socket having an outwardly flared forward end terminating in an annular lip that engages an exterior of the protruding hump wherein the lip is welded to an exterior of the spigot.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2011Publication date: August 22, 2013Applicant: Tyco Water Pty LimitedInventor: Allan Bushell Deans

Patent number: 8439408Abstract: A pipe repair clamp includes a flexible strap having ends that are brought together when the clamp is closed. A thrust plate is secured near the first end of the flexible strap. A lug is secured to the thrust plate. A lug plate is secured near the second end of the strap. A threaded stud is secured to the lug plate and is used to tighten the clamp. A lug cover plate is secured to the lug and the thrust plate and receives the threaded stud. The lug cover plate includes a curved end portion covering at least a portion of the lug. A locking plate receives the threaded stud. The locking plate slides along a top surface of the lug and over the lug cover plate when the first and second ends of the strap are pulled toward each other when the clamp is tightened around a pipe.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2009Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Assignee: Tyco Water Pty LimitedInventors: Rodney Glocer, Russell Bruerton, Ian C. Publication number: 20100083473Abstract: A pipe repair clamp which allows a locking plate to slide over a plurality of lugs into position making it easier to close the clamp around a pipe. The pipe repair clamp includes a flexible strap formed into a substantially cylindrical body defining a hollow bore. The strap has a first and second ends which are brought together when the clamp is closed. A thrust plate is secured near the first end of the flexible strap. At least one lug is secured to the thrust plate and extends perpendicular to the thrust plate. The lug plate is secured near the second end of said strap. At least one threaded stud is secured to the lug plate and is used to tighten the clamp closed. A lug cover plate is perpendicularly secured to the lug and the thrust plate and has at least one opening to receive the threaded stud. The lug cover plate also includes a curved end portion covering at least a portion of the lug. A locking plate has at least one opening and is adapted to receive the threaded stud.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2009Publication date: April 8, 2010Applicant: TYCO WATER PTY LIMITEDInventor: Gienek Mieszelewicz

Patent number: 7641241Abstract: A pipe joint, and a method of forming a pipe joint between two metallic pipes which have been internally and/or externally coated with a material to prevent corrosion includes a spigot and a socket. The socket has, or is formed with, an internal circumferential groove (6) that provides a seating for an elastomeric sealing ring (8). An extension or lip (13) forward from the groove provides a welding location (14) remote from the sealing ring. The coating on the end of the socket if necessary is removed to facilitate welding. The spigot has a heat sink member (9) to enable the lip of the socket to be welded to the metal of the spigot.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2004Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Tyco Water Pty LimitedInventor: Gienek Mieszelewicz

Patent number: 7219934Abstract: A pipe coupling for coupling the ends of pipe sections together end to end, wherein the coupling includes a barrel member, at least one coupling member, at least one elastomeric sealing ring, a tangentially extending bolt and interacting members. The barrel member surrounds the ends of the pipe sections and the coupling member engages an end of the barrel member. The sealing ring is disposed between an end of the barrel member and the coupling member, and expands radially outward and inward to seal within the end of the barrel member and around a circumference of one of the pipe sections. The bolt couples the coupling member to the barrel member. The interaction members interact and progressively twist the coupling member along the barrel member to force the sealing ring into sealing engagement within the barrel member and around the circumference of the pipe sections.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2003Date of Patent: May 22, 2007Assignee: Tyco Water Pty LimitedInventors: John E. McMahon, Richard I. Gellie
