Patents Assigned to Tyee Aircraft, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4851065
Abstract: Hollow continuously wound filament integral structures having integral filament and resin interleafs, integral sleeves, and integral end fittings to transfer all loads, their method, and apparatus of manufacture, all center on the making and use of the filament and resin interleafs. In a preferred embodiment each interleaf has spaced leafs, arranged parallel, i.e. at a zero angle, to the longitudinal axis of each hollow continuously wound filament integral structure, of a length to extend from respective ends of the structure, over and well beyond the respective turnaround zones of the continuous filament and resin windings, so all types of loads will be fully transferred.

  • Patent number: 4097163
Abstract: A metallic rod end is fixedly secured to a relatively softer metallic tube by providing imprinted screw threads on the rod free end. Then grooves are imprinted in the screw threads and to a depth not greater than that of the minor diameter of the screw threads and with the grooves extending axially of the rod end. The tube is provided with a threaded bore mating the screw threads on the rod end. The threads in the threaded bore are provided by imprinting and the entrance portion thereto has a diameter substantially equal to the major diameter of the screw threads. After threading the rod into the tube until the grooves are aligned with the entrance portion, then the tube is swaged causing flow of metal from the tube to the rod end and into the grooves therein. This first rod end may be provided with an internally threaded bore so as to function as an insert between the metallic tube and a second externally threaded rod end.

  • Patent number: 3990542
Abstract: The linear motion arresting device has a stationary member with an internal bore. A mating piston, formed of a plurality of piston parts, is slidable in said bore. One piston part is connected to a prime mover and the others are slidable toward and away from, and lengthwise of, said one piston part. Each of the piston parts has an elongated groove extending parallel to the bore and with the grooves providing directly between piston parts, a ball receiving channel in which a ball may travel and with the channel extending axially of, and at an angle to, the bore and with portions of the two opposite ends of the grooves extending more radially inwardly of the bore than the other two. A relatively nondeformable ball is mounted for travel in the ball receiving channel. A spring construction moves the piston parts in opposite, axial directions until the more radially inward portions of said grooves contact said ball.
