Patent number: 7480515Abstract: A device and method for of synchronizing a MAC superframe of a wireless device is disclosed. The wireless device can be located within a chain of a plurality of other wireless devices. The method includes receiving beacons from at least one other device during a superframe of the wireless device, determining a superframe offset for each of the other wireless devices based on timing of the received beacons, determining a corrective delay based on the superframe offsets, inserting the corrective delay within a current superframe of the wireless device, and inserting a predictive delay within the current superframe, the predictive delay being determined by an estimate of a difference between a frequency a clock of the wireless device and a frequency of a slowest clock of the other wireless devices within the chain.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2005Date of Patent: January 20, 2009Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Patrick Worfolk, Xiaoming Zhou

Patent number: 7440412Abstract: A method and apparatus of predicting link quality of a link is disclosed. The method includes receiving multi-carrier modulated signals over a period of time, estimating an SNR for each received sub-carrier, constructing a sequence of the SNRs, and estimating link PER based upon knowledge of encoding and/or interleaving used during transmission, and the sequence of SNRs.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2006Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Dengwei Fu, Sujai Chari, Mohan Ramasudha Karnam

Patent number: 7437139Abstract: A method and apparatus of calibrating filtering of receive and transmit signals is disclosed. The method of calibrating filtering of a received signal includes injecting an LO signal. The injected LO signal is filtered by a tunable filter. The filtered signal is frequency down-converted with an equivalent LO signal. The frequency down-converted signal is sampled while tuning the filtering. A desired filter tuning is determined based upon the samples and a frequency of the LO signal. The method of calibrating filtering of a transmit signal includes injecting an LO signal to a transmitter. The LO signal is filtered by a tunable filter. The filtered signal is frequency down-converted with an equivalent LO signal. The frequency down-converted signal is sampled while tuning the filter. A desired filter tuning is determined based upon the samples and a frequency of the LO signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2005Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Steve Lo, Isaac Sever, Thai Nguyen, Ssu-Pin Ma

Patent number: 7430163Abstract: Embodiments of transmission data stream pre-processing are disclosed. A method includes receiving the data stream for transmission, forming blocks of samples from the data stream, inverse Fourier transforming the blocks of samples forming multi-carrier signal symbols, selecting sets of k multi-carrier signal symbols and time expanding each of the sets of the k multi-carrier signal symbols into sets of n multi-carrier signal symbols, where n is greater than k, and transmitting each of the n multi-carrier signal symbols. The time expansion can be accomplished by coding the coding the sets of k multi-carrier signal symbols.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2004Date of Patent: September 30, 2008Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sujai Chari, Rajeev Krishnomoorthy

Patent number: 7417500Abstract: A method of controlling an adjustable gain of an amplifier is disclosed. The method includes setting an output of a replica amplifier to be equivalent to a precision reference with a control loop, summing an adjustable offset voltage into the control loop, adjusting the adjustable offset voltage until an error offset voltage of the control loop is nulled, and controlling the adjustable gain of the amplifier with an output of the control loop. An apparatus for controlling an adjustable gain of an amplifier is also disclosed. The apparatus includes a control loop for setting the adjustable gain. The control loop includes an adjustable gain replica amplifier. A switch receives an output of the replica amplifier and a precision reference. An error amplifier receives outputs from the switch and generates a control voltage. The control voltage controls an adjustable gain of the replica amplifier and the adjustable gain of the amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2006Date of Patent: August 26, 2008Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventor: James Christopher Arnott

Patent number: 7324794Abstract: Embodiments of methods of receiving transmitted signals are disclosed. The methods include a first antenna receiving a second signal, a second antenna receiving a second signal, adjusting a phase relationship between the first signal and the second signal, combining the phase adjusted first signal and second signal, and processing the phase adjusted first signal and second signal to determine the phase adjustment for optimizing at least one of signal to noise ratio and signal to interference ratio of the combined signals.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2004Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sujai Chari, Rajeev Krishnomoorthy

Patent number: 7248217Abstract: A method of controlling multiple antenna signal transmission is disclosed. The method includes adjusting signal parameters so that transmission signals from a plurality of antennas combine to form a directional beam. A time duration in which the transmission signals are directed is controlled so that an average EIRP does not exceed a predetermined threshold.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2005Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Tzero Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sanjay Mani, Adam L.
