  • Patent number: 4991017
Abstract: A television receiver or video recorder includes a multipage teletext, a programmed control and a non-volatile page number memory with which their teletext pages with their corresponding page numbers are stored in a page number memory. The numbers of frequently consulted pages are automatically stored in the page number memory with reference to the pattern of use, i.e., frequency of use. The number of each requested page is stored in the page number memory. The oldest page number or, if the entered number is already stored, the duplicate identical page number is removed from the memory. The page number memory then always comprises the most recently requested page numbers.

  • Patent number: 4990834
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a picture display device for generating an essentially sawtooth-shaped line deflection current with a trace and a retrace through a deflection coil, which circuit arrangement comprises a series circuit of a trace capacitor, the line deflection coil and a bidirectionally conducting, line frequency-controlled switch which is conducting during the trace time and is not conducting during the retrace time, in which retrace time the deflection coil and a retrace capacitor are part of a resonant network. The series circuit also comprises a voltage source, while the losses in the series circuit are so low that the sum of the DC components of the voltage of the source and of the voltage across the trace capacitor is many times higher, at least 5 times, than the amplitude of the AC component of the source. The deflection current is given a desired variation by means of three controls.

  • Patent number: 4991055
Abstract: A method and a device for manufacturing multilayer ceramic capacitors, in which a plate of ceramic material composed of several layers is subdivided in the green non-sintered state into separate capacitor elements. For this purpose, by means of notching members, notches of a given depth are provided simultaneously on both sides of the plate in such a manner that spontaneous ruptures are obtained through the remaining thickness of the plate. Due to this method, the contamination of the exposed electrode layers and delamination are avoided. By the use of a frame with resilient walls, the already separated capacitor elements are held together until the notching process has been carried out completely.

  • Patent number: 4991018
Abstract: As shown in FIG. 2, a teletext decoder has a multi-page memory (MEM) comprising a plurality of memory portions (CH0 to CH3) in which individual pages can be stored on a priority basis. The numbers of selected pages are entered into page request registers (PR0 to PR3) and when the number of a selected page is detected by the relevent one of page comparators (PC0 to PC3) a found bit (FB) is produced by the relevant one of flip-flops (FB0 to FB3) and recorded in the memory portion allotted to the selected page by processor means (PM). In order to ensure that the end of a selected page can also be detected, one of the memory portions is allotted to store every page received so that a found bit is always produced at the end of a selected page stored in another memory portion. The processor means (PM) uses this latter found bit to signify detection of the end of the selected page.

  • Patent number: 4988203
Abstract: In a device for measuring the cut-off wavelength of an interference filter for a projection television display tube, the interference filter and a bandpass filter are arranged one behind the other. The bandpass filter has a transmission characteristic with a cut-off wavelength which approximately coincides with the desired cut-off wavelength of the interference filter, but with a slope varying in the opposite direction. A white light beam generated in a light source is incident through the two filters. The intensity, which is measured by a detector on the other side of the filters, is a measure of the cut-off wavelength of the interference filter. The device may have a second measuring system for measuring the absorption of the interference filter.

The focusing lens field partly overlaps the deflection field. The focusing lens comprises a tubular structure having an inner surface on which a helical resistance structure of a material having a high electrical resistance is provided, which tubular structure has a coaxial input portion and a coaxial output portion, the output portion having dimensions which prevent the deflected electron beam from impinging upon the glass of the inner wall. • Patent number: 4989171
Abstract: There is described the calculation of a multiplicatively inverted element of an input vector specified in a finite major Galois field. From the set of vector coefficients there is formed a first set of linear forms and a further set of matrix-organized linear forms. The elements of the first set of linear forms are pairwise combined to quadratic forms that represent a set of coefficients of a vector defined in a subfield in the major field. This latter vector is then converted to its multiplicative inverse, after which the inverted subfield-vector has its coefficients multiplied by elements of the further set to generate the multiplicative inverse in the major field. By scrupulously combining the generation of various intermediate terms a further reduction of the necessary hardware and/or processing time is attained.
