    Abstract: A ladder support rack capable of holding a ladder in place on a vehicle and quickly releasing it for use. A bell crank is pivoted to cause latching arms connected to the bell crank to move into and out of latching position. The latching arms are positioned to move between the ladder rungs and to engage predetermined rungs when holding the ladder in place. The ladder can be set into place and removed either from the end or the side of the rack.
