  • Patent number: 10554442
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for load balancing among multi-ports in reverse power feeding, and more particularly, to an apparatus and a method which, in the process in which a distribution apparatus performs load balancing among multi-ports by reversely receiving power from multiple customer premises at a distribution point, when reverse power feeding from a specific customer premise is stopped, since a power burden of a remaining customer premise is increased, which interfere with a communication service, can reduce power consumption on the distribution by releasing a link of a communication port connected with the corresponding customer premise as soon as the power feeding is stopped and provide a stable communication service by performing the load balancing only with respect to remaining communication ports.

  • Publication number: 20170026081
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for GIGA wire auto pairing, in more details the method for performing auto pairing between a domain master and end-point in an access network forming a G.hn domain including access network multiplexer (GAM) in which multiple ports are functioning as domain masters, a terminal (GNT) which includes an end-point forming a G.hn domain with the domain master, and a bundle cable connecting the domain master with the end-point. The auto pairing process is performed by activating ports and starting opening-up, and linking the domain master and the end-point using a seed value, then if the link is set up, automatically registering MAC address of the end-point using previously saved MAC address of the end-point. And thus the domain master is connected only with the registered end-point in the relink process. According to the present invention, it is unlikely to confuse different lines as the same lines.

  • Patent number: 9007228
Abstract: An Ethernet-based transmission system using a dying gasp according to the present invention includes an SMPS for supplying power to an Ethernet-based lower level system, detecting a state of a power fault, and outputting a dying gasp alarm signal. A CPU receives the dying gasp alarm signal, and generates and transmits an alarm packet. A PHY chip receives the alarm packet, and uplinks the alarm packet so that the alarm packet is transferred to a higher level stage. An L3 switch receives the alarm packet and determines whether a power fault has occurred in the lower level system. Accordingly, the present invention applies a dying gasp to an Ethernet-based or EPON-based transmission system and is then capable of generating and transmitting an alarm packet so that when a power fault occurs, a device in a higher level network can rapidly determine the occurrence of the power fault.

  • Patent number: 8897636
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an optical network terminal. The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) includes a laser diode for generating an optical signal to be transmitted to the OLT. A laser diode driving unit supplies driving current required for light emission of the laser diode. A driving current detection unit detects the driving current. A light emission time determination unit calculates a light emission time of the laser diode depending on a time for which the driving current is detected, and outputs a power control signal including information about results of a comparison between the light emission time of the laser diode and a preset reference time. A power supply voltage control unit interrupts a power supply voltage of the laser diode driving unit when the power control signal includes information indicating that the light emission time of the laser diode is longer than the reference time.

  • Patent number: 8774623
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a Passive Optical Network (PON) system and method for detecting a fault in an Optical Network terminal (ONT). The PON system for detecting a fault in an ONT includes a plurality of ONTs for outputting optical signals in time slots allocated thereto in a time division access control manner and having at least one virtual ONT. An Optical Line Terminal (OLT) receives the optical signals output from the plurality of ONTs in the time division access control manner, and then detects a faulty ONT. According to the present invention, a faulty ONT that continuously outputs signals can be detected and action can be rapidly taken against system faults when a virtual ONT is formed in a plurality of ONTs connected to an OLT and then an optical signal in the section of the virtual ONT is detected, thus providing a reliable service.
