  • Patent number: 6910348
Abstract: A machine (10) for making products such as iced beverages and the like comprises a tank (11) to contain the product in which cooling means (12) and stirring means (13) are present. The tank comprises a product-dispensing tap (14) having a slidable piston (15) and which is provided with sealing elements (17, 18) to offer a hydraulic outward seal to the tank when the tap is in a closed condition. The piston portion (23) between the sealing elements and in contact with the product in the tank has a reduced section to form regions (19) of free circulation of the product around the piston. The tank may comprise surfaces (20) for conveying the product towards such regions so as to facilitate circulation thereof. Thus the product stagnation that may cause bacteria and pollutant formation is avoided and the cleaning operation with use of sanitising solutions is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 6546843
Abstract: A machine for producing and dispensing cold or iced beverages comprises a plurality of beverage-containing tanks (11). Each tank is provided with an evaporator (12) for a refrigerating circuit and a mixer (13). The evaporators are connected with one and the same compressor (15) by connection and controlled-shutoff valves (16). The machine comprises a control system (22) receiving information (23, 24) about the temperature and/or density of the beverage in each tank and sending enable or cut-off signals respectively to the valves (16), which signals are distributed cyclically and in time so as to have a sequential enable of the valves themselves. In each enable sequence each valve is enabled for a time which is a function of the difference between the temperature and/or density detected in the associated tank and the predetermined density and/or temperature to be reached in such a tank.

  • Patent number: 6467944
Abstract: An iced-beverage making machine comprises a tank (11) to contain the beverage, a mixer (12) to stir the beverage in the tank and a refrigerating circuit (14) to cool the beverage in the tank. The mixer is connected by a magnetic joint to a movement reduction motor (13). The magnetic joint comprises a driving portion (16) which is provided with a crown of first magnets (22) and is connected to the reduction motor (13), and a driven portion (17) which is provided with a crown of second magnets (21) and is connected to the mixer and magnetically driven in rotation by the driving portion. Close to the two magnet crowns there is the presence of means (23, 24) for detecting the angular phase displacement of the two crowns relative to the angular position of maximum attraction between the magnets, the detecting means sending a disabling signal (26) to the refrigerating circuit when the detected angular phase displacement exceeds a preestablished value.

  • Patent number: 5713214
Abstract: A machine for cooling and dispensing a product substantially behaving like a fluid, such as beverages or water-ice, comprises a base (11) and a tank (12) for treatment of the product to be dispensed. The tank is positioned on the base in a removable manner and heat exchange means (14) and a powered stirring element (15) are inserted thereinto. Also arranged in the tank (12) is a level probe (19) connected with control means (25) of the product level in the tank. The probe (19) has one detecting end (20) within the tank and an electrical-contact area (23) disposed on an external wall of the tank (12). Additionally, the base (11) bears an electrical-contact element (24) connected to the control means (25). On mounting of the tank (12) on the base (11), the contact area (23) of the probe (19) comes into electrical contact with the contact element (24) on the base so that the probe (19) is automatically connected in a detachable manner to the control means (25).

  • Patent number: 4696417
Abstract: A refrigerated beverage dispenser having a base supporting a container housing a device for circulating and whipping a beverage. An evaporator is located in the container while the refrigerator unit thereof is housed within the base, along with a motor and a magnetic transmission for driving a circulating and whipper device within the container. The impeller is rotatably mounted upon a pin in a housing chamber of the container and includes a plurality of ports associated with pipes for both circulating the beverage within the container and dispensing the beverage outside of the container. One of the pipes is connected to a port of the impeller housing and has a non-return valve which selectively regulates fluid communication between the container and the housing chamber. Another pipe connnects the impeller housing to the container exterior for dispensing the beverage.
