Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for mini-invasive ultrasound treatment of an object. At least one therapeutic ultrasound transducer (2) is arranged for treatment of the object (5) by generating an ultrasonic field (3), the temperature focus (F) of which is located in the object (5) for heating thereof. The therapeutic ultrasound transducer (2) comprises a probe (10) adapted to be inserted into the body in the direction towards the object (5) and comprises a front portion (10a) adapted to be located at, against or in the object (5). Said probe (10) comprises at least one transmitter element (11) for generating said ultrasonic field (3). The transmitter element (11) for generating the ultrasonic field (3) is arranged behind the front portion (10a) such that the transmitter element (11) does not heat or substantially not heat the front portion (10a) when in operation.
Abstract: Device for miniinvasive ultrasound treatment of disc disease. A therapeutic ultrasound tranducer (2) is provided for treatment of the disc (5), of a patient (4) by generating an ultrasonic field (3), of which the temperature focus (F) is located in the disc (5), for heating thereof. The device comprises an optical navigating device (20) with a signal receiving or signal sending unit (32). A reference device (28) has a set position relative to the disc (5). The Therapeutic ultrasound transducer (2) is provided for insertion through the skin of the patient (4) and engagement of the disc (5), preferably anulus fibrosus (8), and it has a flexible wall with an ultrasound transmitting element provided within the flexible wall.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a membrane or wall (3) of a material, which is capable of vapour/vacuum deposition, over an opening of an object (2). The method includes: placing the opening with a defined rim against a backing surface (4) coated with a layer (5) repellent to the depositable material; depositing of the depositable material on the object (2) and the backing surface (4) to form an element; separation of the element from the hacking surface (4) leaving a membrane (3) integral with the element. The invention also relates to such an object provided with a membrane (3), and particularly an ultrasonic transducer (11) provided with a front membrane (3).

Abstract: A device for non-invasive ultrasound treatment of disc disease. This device includes a therapeutic ultrasound transducer which is provided for treatment of the disc, preferably nucleus pulposus, of a patient by generating an ultrasonic field, the temperature focus (F) of which is located in the disc, preferably nucleus pulposus, for heating thereof. The therapeutic ultrasound transducer is of a “phased array”-type and a diagnostic ultrasound transducer is provided to determine the acoustic properties of the patient's tissue. An optical navigating device including at least one diagnostic camera and at least one signal receiving and/or signal sending unit is adapted to send or transmit signals to and/or receive reflected or other signals from position transmitters on a reference device and on the therapeutic ultrasound transducer. A computer is provided with at least one computer program which is designed for calculations in connection with settings of the device.
