Abstract: A garment comprises at least one fabric portion comprised of an elastic material. The garment further includes a hip portion and a limb portion wherein the at least one fabric portion extends to the limb portion. A compression adjustment arrangement is coupled to the at least one fabric portion. The compression adjustment arrangement includes a plurality of fluid pockets positioned on the at least one fabric portion at the limb portion. A pump is configured to pump fluid into the plurality of fluid pockets in order to stretch the at least one fabric portion. The pump includes a flexible diaphragm positioned on the hip portion and configured to force fluid into the plurality of fluid pockets upon depression.

Abstract: A garment includes a lower portion and a waistband coupled to the lower portion and configured to be oriented around a waist of the person wearing the garment. The waistband includes a first flap and a second flap. The first flap includes a top edge and an opposite arcuate edge. The second flap includes a top edge and an opposite bottom edge, wherein the first flap and the second flap overlap. A pocket panel is coupled to the waistband of the garment and defines a pocket with an opening to the pocket. The opening to the pocket is defined along a laterally-extending first perimeter portion of the pocket panel and a laterally-extending second perimeter portion of the pocket panel. The first flap is coupled to the first perimeter portion of the pocket panel and the second flap is coupled to the second perimeter portion of the pocket panel.

Abstract: A woven textile structure is formed by weaving a first woven layer including first yarns and weaving a second woven layer including first yarns, where the woven layers are arranged in a stacked manner and are separated from each other. During the weaving of the first and second woven layers, second yarns are inserted along an intermediate span in the weft direction of the woven textile structure, where the second yarns are elongated to an elongated length during the insertion in the weft direction. First yarns of the first woven layer are interlaced with first yarns of the second woven layer and a second yarn of the intermediate span at a plurality of interlacing locations along the woven textile structure so as to define stitches at each interlacing location, where each stitch joins the first woven layer with the second woven layer.

Abstract: An article of footwear with an upper including a ribbon structure is disclosed. The ribbon structure comprises ribbon sections running in at least two different directions. Ribbon sections are connected at nodes. Between nodes portions of ribbon act like links joining the nodes. The links can be arranged in various geometries, including a rectangular grid and a triaxial grid. The ribbon structure may extend the entire length of the article of footwear, and may extend through a forefoot, midfoot and heel.

Abstract: A fitness tracking system includes a shoe, a magnetometer, and a controller. The magnetometer is mounted on the shoe and is configured to generate three-axis direction data in response to movement of the shoe during a predetermined time period. The controller is operably connected to the magnetometer and is configured to generate two-axis calibrated direction data based on the three-axis direction data after the predetermined time period. The two-axis calibrated direction data corresponds to an orientation of the shoe during the predetermined time period.

Abstract: An article of footwear includes a plurality of first cleats mounted on a first side of the article of footwear and a plurality of second cleats mounted on a second side of the article of footwear. Each of the first cleats includes at least one lateral leg and at least one medial leg, the at least one lateral leg having a first hardness and the at least one medial leg having a second hardness, wherein the first hardness is different than the second hardness. Each of the second cleats includes a limited number of legs, wherein all the limited number of legs on the at least one second cleat have a same hardness.

Abstract: A running shoe includes an upper coupled to a sole structure. The sole structure includes a midsole and an outsole. The outsole wraps around a sole structure such that it contacts the midsole. The outer surface of the outsole includes a series of treads or traction elements extending along the bottom and sides of the outsole. With this configuration, when the sole structure contacts an uneven topography, the outsole conforms around the topography, stabilizing the footwear during use.

Abstract: A method of forming an upper for an article of footwear includes providing a first material layer over a shoe last, providing a second material layer over the first material layer such that the first and second material layers adhere to each other at an interface between the first and second material layers, where one or both of the first material layer and second material layer is provided by spray forming a polymer material onto the last. The material layers are removed from the last and turned inside out such that the first material layer includes an exposed surface that forms an exterior surface of the upper.

Abstract: An article of footwear with a braided upper is disclosed. The article includes a braided upper with a bottom opening and a bottom peripheral portion surrounding the bottom opening. An article can include an insole component with a projecting portion that fits though the bottom opening. An article may otherwise include a midsole component with an upper projecting portion that fits through the bottom opening. A midsole component and/or an insole component may be attached directly to the bottom peripheral portion of the braided upper using a bonding agent.

Abstract: An article of apparel includes a composite material. The composite material includes a pliable first layer and a resilient second layer, where the first and second layers are secured to each other via a patterned strand network. In forming the composite material, the second layer is stretched and maintained under tension while the first layer is secured to the second layer via the patterned strand network. The tension on the second layer is then released, resulting in contraction of the second layer in relation to the first layer and an outward buckling or protrusion of the first layer in relation to the second layer to form protruding cells along the composite material that are bounded by portions of the patterned strand network. The patterned strand network can be formed using embroidery with one or more auxetic patterns in the stitching.
