  • Patent number: 5740662
Abstract: A bale wrapper apparatus (10) which comprises: a frame (13); a towbar (14) attached to and projecting forwardly of the frame (13) to enable the apparatus to be towed behind a propelling vehicle (11); a arch structure (15) forming part of said frame (13) and facing in the intended direction of travel, said structure being of sufficient size to allow a bale (12) lying on the ground to pass through the arch (15) when the apparatus (10) is moved forwardly; a bale lifting device (16) mounted on the frame (13) and operative to lift a bale (12) lying on the ground to a bale-wrapping position; means (19) for rotating the bale (12) about a substantially horizontal axis (24) extending generally parallel to the direction of travel when the bale (12) has been lifted to the bale-wrapping position; means (20) for holding a supply reel (29) of stretchable plastics film for wrapping the bale (12); means (21) for causing relative rotation between the supply reel (29) and the bale (12) about a substantially vertical axis (22),

  • Patent number: 4972656
Abstract: A round bale wrapper for packing feed, like green forage and straw, intended for ensilage of the feed and conservation of the straw. The round bale is made to turn both about a substantially horizontal and a substantially vertical axis. The round bale wrapper comprises a round bale table, a chassis with round bale table being tiltable relative to the latter, and a packing sheet dispensing means which is externally provided relative to round bale table. For continuous automatic packing of round bales the round bale wrapper comprises means for clamping and cutting sheet which is located between the round bale, and the sheet dispensing means. At a predetermined point of time or tilting angle during the tilting movement of round bale table clamping and cutting means operate sequentially. Upon cutting of the sheet the latter is still firmly held in the clamping means, and the sheet is held during at least one revolution of the round bale table as a first step of packing the next round bale.

  • Patent number: 4841716
Abstract: The invention relates to a stretching means for braking a web of plastic sheet which is pulled off a reel. The stretching means comprises an arm (4) which is mounted to be slewable about an axis (5) extending in parallel with the axis (3) of said plastic sheet reel, a first roller (6) which is pivotally mounted on arm (4) and is intended to be made to rest against reel (2). Furthermore, the stretching means comprises a second roller (7) which is pivotally mounted on arm (4) to receive a loop of plastic sheet web (12) which is pulled off said reel (2) to cause said second roller (7) to be pulled towards said reel (2), and a drive connection (8) between said two rollers (6,7) causing the plastic sheet web to be stretched in zone (13) between the plastic sheet reel and the looped roller (7) when said web is pulled off the reel.

  • Patent number: 4468745
Abstract: A device for measuring the angular position of a plurality of synchro or resolver mechanisms utilizes time multiplexing between different input channels. First and second multipliers have their respective outputs connected to a subtraction unit which communicates with a position calculating microprocessor via a demodulator and an analog to digital converter. The microprocessor communicates with the subtraction unit through a data bus.

  • Patent number: 4107948
Abstract: A flexible robot arm according to the present invention is composed of a number of mutually connected rigid links and operatively adapted to perform controlled bending movements driven by robot drive means. Said successive links of the arm are both interlinked as chain links and hinged to each other between interlinked link ends, preferably by means of universal joints. In addition pairs of arm links which are interlinked with the same intermediate link, are pivotably adjoined at their adjacent extreme ends. One of the terminal ends of the arm is connected with the drive means in such a manner that controlled angular tilts may be imparted to the first link of the arm, corresponding tilts being transferred to the successive arm links by means of the above hinge and pivotable connections between the individual links of the arm. Further the connection between the robot arm and the drive means may be arranged in such a way that the arm may be rotated independently of the bending of the same.
