Abstract: There is disclosed an overhead sectional door suitable for use with capped pickup trucks in which a multiplicity of sealing means are provided. Thus, there is provided compressible sealing means adapted to be compressed against the outer and inner faces of the door and auxiliary flexible sealing member adapted to span the compressible sealing member at the face of the door and from the side of the doorway to the door, a special sill plate having an upturned inner edge adapted to act as a dam and a transverse compressible sealing member adapted to seal between the door and the upturned member. A special fixed base support bracket is provided to hold a compressible sealing member in position to be compressed against the inner face of the door.
Abstract: There is disclosed and overhead sectional door in which the framing sections are composed of tubular extrusions constructed to provide for a sealing bead about the periphery of the door which abuts the door frame and seals it against entry of dust and water. The door sections are hinged together by integral complementary male and female hinge sections and the outer framing members, that is the top and side framing members, are constructed with strategically placed screw receptors to facilitate making corners.
Abstract: There is disclosed a sectional door for a capped pickup truck in which the sections comprise panel members framed by frame members made of hollow extrusions having front-panel-receiving channels on the front inner corners thereof and rear-panel-receiving chamfers on the rear inner corners thereof, beading receiving channels in the surface opposite the front-panel-receiving channels, complementary hinge-forming elements on the outer rear corners of the inner panels or inner sections, and screw-receiving channels on the inner surface of the side of the end members which is opposite the side having the panel receptors therein.
Abstract: There is disclosed a pickup truck cap having a roll-away or sectional overhead door in which the cap has a door frame at the rear thereof with a depending portion adapted to fit in the tailgate receptor portion of the truck bed. The guides for the door comprise channel members of tubular cross-section having a longitudinal side opening facing the door which is provided with apposed, narrow, rolling surfaces and the door is provided with rollers adapted to roll on these rolling surfaces. The rollers have a flange to prevent them from pulling out of the channel and are spring-biased to accommodate rocking of the truck.
