Abstract: The present invention deals with a method for the preparation of an antimicrobial aqueous solution containing chlorhexidine digluconate and tartaric acid for use with dental/orthodontic glass ionomer cement, and an antimicrobial aqueous solution substantially improved by the inclusion of chlorhexidine digluconate up to 18% and tartaric acid up to 11%.
