Abstract: The Present Invention comprises the steps of determining a first transaction total price and a second transaction total price, for which the consumer is eligible upon the satisfaction of certain criteria. The first total transaction price is sent from a cashier terminal to a payment interface. Further information, such as an indication of the method of payment presented to the payment interface, is sent from the payment interface to the cashier terminal. The Present Invention then determines whether the consumer is eligible for the second total transaction price by using the further information to determine if the required criteria is satisfied. If the criteria is satisfied, the cashier terminal then sends the second total price to the payment interface.

Abstract: A system and method for implementing promotions in a retail environment is provided. Transceivers located at one or more locations within the retail environment are adapted for communication with personal mobile devices carried by shoppers. Promotions can be offered and accepted based on factors such as a shopper's location within a store, shopper identity, shopper purchase history, shopper promotion redemption history, date and time and other factors. Applicable promotions are then activated within the retailer point-of-sale system for application during checkout.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for a method of offering coupons to a consumer at a point of sale. The method includes the steps of detecting entry of an identifier of an item to be purchased by the consumer at the point of sale, searching a database to identify a coupon that provides a discount on a purchase price of the item when used with a predetermined credit card and calculating a discount offered by the coupon for purchase of the item with the predetermined credit card; and displaying the calculated discount to the consumer.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for reimbursing merchants for coupons used by the customers of those merchants is disclosed. Pursuant to the Present Invention, a Coupon Data File is prepared, identifying the products potentially subject to coupons and/or incentives, and the nature of the associated discount. A Transaction Log Data File is also prepared, describing one or more purchase transactions undertaken by consumers. Finally, a Transaction Log Processor analyzes the transaction log data, compares the information in the Transaction Log Data File with information in the Coupon Data File and tabulates coupons redeemed by consumers during the transactions associated with the information in the Transaction Log Data.
