Abstract: Needle selecting device (3) of a knitting machine comprised of swinging jacks (5) and further permanent magnets and electromagnets and cams. A pole end (6, 7) of a permanent magnet is selected for each end of the swinging jack (5). The electromagnet pole end (8) is built in least one pole end (6). The push-button (9, 91) is arranged in the space between the pole ends (6, 7) of the permanent magnet to separate one end of the swinging jack (5) from the pole end (6 or 7) of the permanent magnet.
Abstract: A device used on circular knitting machines for manufacturing hosiery or like knitwear, comprises two co-axial discs arranged adjacent each other so as to form a passage for a knitwork. One disc is provided with a helical surface for engaging the knitwork which is forced toward the helical surface by the second disc. One disc is rotatable while the other is stationary. Radial grooves are provided on the second disc for guiding the knitwork in the wale direction.

Abstract: Thread used in double-cylinder circular knitting machines is cut by locating a stationary cutting knife near a space between the cylinders. A saw having perpendicularly arranged teeth is positioned on an outer ring at the top of one of the cylinders. Thread guides move the thread from a pneumatic nozzle to the teeth of the saw. The saw engages the thread and moves the thread for knitting to needles on the cylinder. The saw continues to move the thread from the nozzle to the knife in order to be severed. After severing, the guide is returned and the thread engaged between the needles is disengaged and taken by the saw to the knife to be cut and taken in by the nozzle.
