    Abstract: Provided is a coupling structure between a front pillar and a side sill of an automobile, which improves the steering stability of the automobile and realizes a high productivity. The reinforcing member 8 is coupled to a front pillar outer 2. An end portion of the reinforcing member 8 at the rear side of the automobile is extended toward a side sill 4 to form a reinforcing member extension 8a.     Abstract: A vehicular metal absorber for efficiently absorbing by a short stroke the impact energy received from legs of a pedestrian at the time of a collision between a pedestrian and an automobile, reducing the residual crush, and protecting the legs of the pedestrian, that is, a long vehicular metal absorber comprising a center flange, a top web and bottom web connected to the two sides of the center flange, a top flange connected to the top web, and a bottom flange connected to the bottom web and formed overall into a hat shaped cross-section, wherein an internal angle ?1 formed by the top web with a flange plane including the top flange and bottom flange and an internal angle ?2 formed by the bottom web with the flange plane are respectively over 0 degree to less than 90 degrees, and in that one or both of the top web and bottom web are provided with a recessed or projecting bead substantially parallel to a front-back direction of a vehicle.

    Abstract: A filler pipe for introducing a fuel from a fuel inlet to a fuel tank. Connected to the filler pipe 10 is a bracket 14, which has a cross-section of a “hat” shape and is constructed by bottom wall portions 14-1 located at its ends and is under a face to face contact with an outer surface of the filler pipe 10 and an upper wall portion 14-3 located between the bottom wall portions 14-1 and spaced from the opposite outer surface of the filler pipe 10. The bottom wall portions 14-1 are welded to the opposed surface of the filler pipe. The bracket 14 has a wing part 14-5 extending integrally from the upper wall part 14-3 and having a free end 14-5? welded to the opposed surface of a breather pipe.

    Abstract: A forward/reverse change-over mechanism (3) of an automatic transmission comprises a forward clutch (5) inside a drum (7) with the base (7c) which rotates together with an input shaft (1). The forward clutch (5) engages by driving a piston (9) housed in the drum (7) by the oil pressure of an oil chamber (10) between a base (7c) and the piston (9). Projecting bearings (16) which seat the piston (9) are formed by press-forming at equal angular intervals concentrically with the axial center of the drum (7) in the base (7c). By installing a sensor body (18) which responds to the passage of depressions (17) formed underneath the bearings (16), the forward/reverse change-over mechanism (3) can be made compact and manufactured with a small number of parts and machining steps.

The collision side lateral wall is thicker than the vehicle-mounted side lateral wall, and both corners at opposite ends of the collision side lateral wall are curved with a radius of curvature R of 0.1-0.3 of the length of the collision side lateral wall and both corners at opposite ends of the vehicle-mounted side lateral wall are curved with a radius of curvature of 0.6-2.0 of the thickness of the vehicle-mounted side lateral wall. Alternatively, radius of curvature R may be 0.2-0.6 of the length of the bottom wall.

Thereby, the lower part of the bolt 3 is caused to pass through the lower reinforcing member and the bottom portion 2C of the front sub-frame 2 and is projected from these two members.

    Abstract: A method is provided for forming spline teeth on the walls of a press-formed sheet-metal article on which two peripheral walls of different diameters are disposed in a continuous manner via a step portion by means of a die with a plurality of steps of ironing surfaces, and a punch having a plurality of corresponding ironing surfaces. The punch is provided with a first punch and a second punch which are arranged in a split manner. The second punch first irons teeth on the larger diameter peripheral wall. While the first punch is next used to iron teeth on the smaller diameter peripheral wall, at least some of the pressurizing force on the second punch is maintained to avoid the creation of flaws in the step portion of the sheet metal article.
