Stress is applied to the metallic tubular products in order to change the residual stress profile of the metallic tubular products, such as those that have completed a straightening process, resulting in a residual stress profile that improves collapse resistance. The metallic tubular product is subjected to radial compression processing to control the residual stress profile and to enhance collapse resistance. The radial compression process may be applied after the tubular product has been subjected to a straightening process.

Vertical channels traverse the body portion vertically to the outer surface adjacent to the bottom surface. Helical channels traverse the outer surface in a helical pattern. Vertical channels intersect with corresponding helical channels at a predetermined angle selected to provide a desired particle distribution of a fuel injected into the furnace.

A subset of critical body components are identified based on load path values for the second body component and are parameterized. A second optimization is performed. The second optimization includes a low fidelity optimization for the geometry, the gauge and the grade of the critical body components, and a high fidelity optimization for the mass of each of the critical body components to generate an optimized set of critical body components. The optimized set of critical body components are combined with non-critical body components from the second body configuration to generate a final body configuration which is optimized for performance and weight.

The seal is preferentially divided along the longitudinal axis of the disc to form two interlocking semicircular half-pieces that are snapped together circumferentially about the idler axle so that no disassembly or modification of the idler is required to adhesively attach the seal.
