The sleeve member is non-rotatably disposed on the assembling portion and includes at least one sleeving hole configured to be connected with a connecting member. The magnetic mechanism is disposed within the assembling hole and includes a magnetic member penetrating into the sleeve member and an elastic member abutted against and between the main body and the magnetic member. In a circumferential direction of the magnetic member, a first gap is defined between the sleeve member and the magnetic member so that the sleeve member and the magnetic member are movable radially relative to each other.

    Abstract: A laser weld monitoring system capable of assessing a weld quality of welding using a pulsed laser is provided. The system includes at least one sensor capable of capturing a weld characteristic of welding using said pulsed laser. The weld characteristic has multiple attributes. The system also includes data acquisition and processing equipment adapted for storing and analyzing the weld characteristic. A user first performs multiple welds to capture at least one weld characteristic for each weld. The user then determines the weld quality of each weld, and runs at least one of a library of algorithms associated with the attributes on said at least one weld characteristic for each weld to generate a single value output for the associated attribute. The user selects an attribute indicative of the weld quality by correlating the single value outputs of said at least one algorithm with the weld qualities of the welds.

The fixture tray includes a body for supporting the connector/PCB assembly and cylindrical rods extending from the body. As a thermode is pressed onto the connector/PCB assembly, the fixture tray rotates about its axis of rotation until the work area is aligned with the thermode. In a sandwich type soldering application including a pair of thermodes for simultaneously soldering opposite sides of a connector/PCB assembly, the fixture tray rests on an upper plate of a tray table supported by resilient means such as springs.

    Abstract: A fast response weld head which employs a control system to allow user control of critical welding parameters such as speed, force, position, and duration. In one embodiment, the control system includes a position servo loop attached to a motor driven output shaft on which a welding electrode is mounted utilizing a follow-up spring assembly. During a weld cycle, the control system moves the welding electrode toward a workpiece at a rapid user-defined rate. Just prior to when the electrode is reduced to prevent damage to the parts. When contact is made, the force exerted by the electrode on the workpiece is measured until the measured force equals a user-defined optimum welding force. A user-defined weld current is enabled to the electrode. When the weld is complete, the welding electrode is automatically raised by the control system, releasing all pressure on the workpiece. In a second and presently preferred embodiment, a linear magnetic actuator is utilized in lieu of a motor to drive the output shaft.

    Abstract: The motorized weld head employs a control system which allows user control of critical welding parameters such as speed, force, position, and duration. The control system includes a position servo loop attached to a motor-driven output shaft on which a welding electrode is mounted via a spring. During a weld cycle, the control system moves the welding electrode toward a workpiece at a rapid user-defined rate. Just prior to when the electrode contacts the workpiece, the speed of the electrode is reduced to prevent damage to the parts. When contact is made, a pressure transducer measures the force exerted by the electrode on the workpiece. A comparator continuously monitors the force measured by the transducer and changes state when the measured force equals a user-defined optimum welding force. A signal is then passed to the servo loop commanding it to hold the position of the electrode effectively maintaining the applied force on the workpiece.
