  • Patent number: 11174191
Abstract: A glass composition of the present disclosure includes, in wt %, 50?SiO2?56, 20?B2O3?30, 10?Al2O3?20, 3.5?MgO+CaO?10, and 0?R2O?1.0, further includes Fe2O3, and has a permittivity of less than 5.0 at a frequency of 1 MHz. R is at least one element selected from Li, Na, and K. The glass composition of the present disclosure is a low-permittivity glass composition with which the occurrence of fiber breakage during fiber forming can be reduced even when glass fibers to be formed have a small fiber diameter, and the occurrence of defects such as fiber breakage and fluffing during processing of the glass fibers can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20190144329
Abstract: A glass composition of the present disclosure includes, in wt %, 50?SiO2?54, 25?B2O3?30, 12?Al2O3?15, 0.5?MgO?1.9, 3.0?CaO?5.5, 0?ZnO?3.5, 0.1?Li2O?0.5, and 0.1?Na2O?0.3, and has a permittivity of less than 5.0 at a frequency of 1 MHz. The glass composition of the present disclosure has a low permittivity. The use of this glass composition can reduce the occurrence of devitrification and the inclusion of bubbles in glass fibers to be formed or in a shaped glass material to be formed even when the glass fibers have a small fiber diameter or the shaped glass material has a small thickness.

  • Patent number: 6010652
Abstract: A three-dimensional woven fabric structure is integrally woven by a multi-ply weave having three or more plies, and includes a form defining a plurality of bag portions extending parallel with one another, and arranged in a plurality of rows. The bag portions in each row are defined by two woven fabric plies, the intersection of which along a crossing locus creates a bound portion between adjacent bag portions. Cylindrical bag portions in adjacent rows have a woven fabric ply in common and are interconnected at staggered positions. The fabric structure is creased at midpoints between bound portions whereby the bag portions are set to retain a hollow three-dimensional form, but may be folded flat into a juxtaposed state by application of pressure.

  • Patent number: 5759029
Abstract: An esthetic orthodontic wire comprising a composite material which includes a biocompatible inorganic fiber and a thermoplastic resin. The inorganic fiber is glass fiber formed linearly continuous and having a generally circular or oval cross-sectional shape. The inorganic fiber has a diameter ranging from 1 to 100 .mu.m. The biocompatible inorganic fiber is produced from a mixture of calcium oxide, diphosphorus pentoxide, silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide. The inorganic fiber is biocompatible, in which a molar ratio of calcium/phosphorus is within a range of from 0.5 to 3.0, wherein total of calcium oxide and diphosphorus pentoxide is within a range of from 20 to 65% by weight relative to the glass fiber, and total of silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide is within a range of from 35 to 80% by weight relative to the glass fiber. The content of the glass fiber is within a range of from 5 to 70% by volume of the orthodontic wire.
