Abstract: A support structure for a point of sale system terminal includes a base frame having an inner back plate and two opposite inner side plates connected with two opposite sides of the inner back plate and each provided with at least one first coupling portion and at least one second coupling portion, a housing covered on the base frame and having an outer back plate and two outer side plates connected with two opposite sides of the outer base plate and each provided with at least one third coupling portion detachably coupled to the first coupling portion of the associated inner side plate of the base frame, and a shield having at least one forth coupling portion on each of two opposite sides thereof detachably coupled to the second coupling portion of one of the inner side plates of the base frame. The support structure can be assembled without tool.

Abstract: A flashlight for dispensing a substance from an aerosol canister, the flashlight including an elongated housing having a front end, a rear end, and a central longitudinal axis, the aerosol canister being slidably received within the housing. At least one light emitting diode disposed approximate the front end of the housing and an elongated spray tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end being connected to the aerosol canister and the spray tube extending parallel to the central longitudinal axis such that the distal end extends beyond the front end of the housing.

Abstract: A handheld electronic device includes: a housing which has complementary first and second housing parts, and one corner formed with a key access hole; a screen mounted to the housing; and a multi-directional key unit which includes a circuit board mounted in the housing, a micro stick switch mounted on the circuit board and connected electrically thereto, and an operating control key coupled to the micro stick switch and disposed in the key access hole. The operating control key has outer dimensions smaller than dimensions of the key access hole so as to permit movement of the operating control key in multiple directions in the key access hole.

Abstract: A thin-walled hot foil stamping cylinder of predetermined diameter is formed from an extruded cylindrical tube having a wall of initially uniform cross-sectional thickness. Portions of the outer cylindrical surface of the wall are relieved to define raised, outwardly-projecting hot foil stamping indicia. End caps close opposed ends of the cylindrical tube. One of the end caps is provided with a passage therethrough for introduction of hot oil into the cylindrical interior space of the tube. A passage in at least one of the end caps that communicates with the interior of the tube permits selective draining of oil from the tube. The overall outer surface of the tube may be machined to reduce the tube to a predetermined diameter, prior to relieving the surface thereof to form the indicia. In this manner, a single extruded tube may be used to produce hot foil stamping cylinders of individual diameters corresponding to standard image repeats.

Abstract: A remote control stores a sequence of key strokes in memory for as long as a predetermined key of a plurality of keys of the remote control is held down. The stored sequence of key strokes may then be repeated, for example, upon release of the predetermined key or upon further activation and release of the predetermined key.

Abstract: At least one actuator for actuating a guest lap bar locking assembly for releasably positioning a lap bar includes a rotatable actuator hub, a telegraph rod interconnected with the rotatable actuator hub, an operator arm also extending from the actuator hub and a toggle latching assembly interconnected with the actuator hub. The toggle latching assembly provides for rotation of the telegraph rod to actuate the lap bar locking assembly to prevent movement of the lap bar in at least one particular direction.

Abstract: An ejection seat having pitch, roll, and yaw control provided by three separate rocket motors where each rocket motor has a fixed nozzle and the entire rocket motor is rotated about a single axis corresponding to the minimum principal moment of inertia of the rocket. Actuation for each rocket motor is by means of a hydraulic rack and pinion actuator. Power for the hydraulic actuators is provided by a unique hydro-pneumatic amplifier that converts stored gas energy into pressurized hydraulic fluid. The high pressure hydraulic fluid is directed through conventional servo valves into the appropriate actuators to provide main, roll, pitch, and yaw thrust as required to achieve upright orientation and vertical flight.

Abstract: Laser beam positioning systems for material processing and methods for using such systems are disclosed herein. One embodiment of a laser-based material processing system, for example, can include (a) a radiation source configured to produce a laser beam and direct the beam along a beam path toward a material processing area, and (b) a laser beam positioning assembly in the beam path. The laser beam positioning assembly can include a first focusing element, first and second reflective optical elements (e.g., movable mirrors), and a second focusing element. The first focusing element can focus the laser beam to a first focal point between the first and second reflective optical elements. The first and second reflective optical elements can direct the laser beam toward the material processing area while the laser beam has a decreasing or increasing cross-sectional dimension (e.g., diameter).

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a current collector for use in a capacitor (e.g., a DEL capacitor) having an aqueous or non-aqueous electrolyte, such as an aqueous sulfuric acid electrolyte. The conductive basis of the current collector is preferably, but not necessarily, comprised of lead or a lead alloy. The portion of the conductive basis that will be in contact with the electrolyte is provided with a protective layer that is created by deposition of one or more layers of one or more protective coating materials thereto. Each protective coating material is comprised of at least a conductive carbon powder and a polymer binder that is resistant to the electrolyte. Preferably, but not essentially, the protective coating material(s) are applied to the conductive basis in the form of a paste, which is subsequently subjected to a solvent evaporation step and a thermal treatment step.

Abstract: An electrode and a DEL capacitor formed therewith. The electrode will typically be a polarizable electrode, and may be formed of an activated carbon material having a substantially zero ash percentage and a low percentage of transition metals. In constructing a DEL capacitor employing such an electrode, a non-polarizable electrode formed from a lead dioxide/lead sulfate compound is preferably also used. The DEL capacitor may utilize an acid-based electrolyte, such as an aqueous sulfuric acid electrolyte. Consequently, the present invention also includes a current collector that preferably comprises a base material formed from a lead or a lead compound and a protective coating material that is resistant to an acid-based electrolyte. Preferably, the protective coating material is formed from a polymer base and a conductive dope that may thereafter be applied to the current collector base material by a variety of methods.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for removably coupling a hanger to a latch at a first end of the hanger, removing the hanger from the latch while the latch remains coupled to a support member, threading an item of hanging stock onto the hanger via the first end, and recoupling the hanger to the latch while the latch remains coupled to the support member, wherein the hanger extends from the latch at an angle that is less than the horizontal, so that the hanging stock is urged by gravity toward a second end of the hanger.

Abstract: A reverse-phase cross coupling structure includes a base, which has a resonance chamber, resonators vertically arranged in parallel in the resonance chamber, and coupling portions respectively coupled between each two adjacent resonators, each coupling portion having a top recess and a coupling hole in the top recess, and an adjustment device, which comprises a cover plate fixedly covered on the base and has through holes corresponding to the coupling holes of the coupling portions and a plurality of adjustment screws respectively inserted through the through holes of the cover plate and threaded into the coupling holes of the coupling portions to the desired elevation to regulate the amount of the reverse-phase cross coupling of the resonators. This novel reverse-phase cross coupling structure is achieved only by base and adjustment device, it is not necessary to employ extra parts as in the prior designs.

Abstract: A cutting guide for use in cutting material using electric scissors or a similar tool includes an elongate cutting channel extending along a support surface. Opposing lower sections of side walls generally adjacent to a bottom of the channel are generally parallel and define a lower region of the channel therebetween having a generally uniform width for receiving a counter-blade of the electric scissors and allowing sliding movement of the counter-blade along the length of the channel. An upper region of the channel has a width greater than the width of the lower region of the channel for receiving a shearing blade of the scissors and permitting the oscillating movement of the shearing blade with respect to the counter-blade when the counter-blade is received in the lower region of the channel.

Abstract: A system provides a multi-sided media viewer capable of displaying media assets from an electronic archival news and content database. Each side of the media player contains different information regarding the media asset. A primary side of the media asset may display a media asset related to an educational program, such as a course curriculum or the like. The secondary sides of the media viewer may contain additional information regarding that media asset, including personalized information generated by a system user as well as automatically populated information, such as information collected from other external news services or content providers. The system may further provide an educational game in which users are encouraged to find and draw connections between media assets to create an interconnection of related news items.
