Patent number: 11333872Abstract: An objective lens switching device includes a prismatic cuvette perpendicular to a plane parallel to a direction of detection and a lighting direction, which are mutually perpendicular. The cross-section of the prism is a polygon with more than four sides with pairs of mutually perpendicular faces. At least several pairs of faces include one face designed to receive a planar light beam in the lighting direction and one face with a coupled lens or objective lens to detect fluorescent light in the direction of detection. The cuvette can rotate about an axis perpendicular to said plane, allowing a specific objective lens to be oriented in the direction of detection.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2018Date of Patent: May 17, 2022Assignee: Universidad Carlos III De MadridInventors: Jorge Ripoll Lorenzo, Alicia Arranz De Miguel

Patent number: 10551609Abstract: The invention relates to a microscope and a method for producing 3D images of various transparent or semi-transparent samples, fundamentally comprising: causing a relative movement according to the detection direction between the sheet of light and the sample while maintaining a constant angle of acquisition; producing, for said angle of acquisition, a single 2D projection image formed by a representative parameter for each pixel; modifying the angle of acquisition by means of a relative rotation between the sheet of light and the sample, combined with a relative vertical translation between the sheet of light and the sample, and repeating the previous steps; and generating a 3D image of each of the samples from the set of 2D projection images that are produced.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2015Date of Patent: February 4, 2020Assignee: UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRIDInventors: Jorge Ripoll Lorenzo, Alicia Arranz de Miguel

Patent number: 9439104Abstract: A method for supporting admission control and/or path selection in a communication network, the network including a plurality of wireless communication links, possibly of different link technologies, established between a plurality of network nodes, includes the steps of partitioning the communication links of the network into groups of communication links—link groups—, assigning each link group an associated link group controller that is configured to observe and/or measure the performance and/or quality of the link group, based on the observations and/or measurements, computing estimates of metrics for the capacity of the respective link group and the costs for using each of the communication links of the respective link group, and transmitting the estimates to at least one resource management entity being configured to take admission control and/or path selection decisions on the basis of the estimates.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2010Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignees: NEC CORPORATION, UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRIDInventors: Frank Zdarsky, Xavier Pèrez Costa, Roberto De Marca, Albert Banchs, Antonio De La Oliva

Publication number: 20120044837Abstract: A method operates at the data link level. Each bridge associates, during a guard time, the port through which a frame is first received with a source MAC address until a unicast reply frame confirms the matching two-way path between the source and destination addresses. Any frame from the same source received through another different port is discarded. Each bridge forwards the received broadcast frames through the rest of the ports, except those involving prohibited (down-up) turns, and deviates (or optionally returns) the unicast frames with an unknown or aged destination address through the spanning tree. The protocol can operate with encapsulation in the border bridges or without encapsulation, using in this case the replacement of universal MAC addresses in the border bridges with local MAC addresses. The establishment and control of paths can optionally be performed proactively by the border bridges, especially the bridges connected to servers.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2010Publication date: February 23, 2012Applicants: UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRID, UNIVERSIDAD DE ALCALA DE HENARESInventors: Guillermo Agustin Ibanez Fernández, Juan Antonio Carral Pelayo, Alberto García Matínez, Arturo Azcorra Saloña
