  • Patent number: 9806805
Abstract: System and method of distributed sensing based on Brillouin stimulated scattering on optical fiber (3), consisting of separating the two signals of which the probe signal is composed and obtaining the difference between the stimulated amplification band (8) and the attenuation band (9), or vice-versa. In this way a signal is obtained with greater amplitude than in the case of detection being performed with a single band. Thus the signal-to-noise ratio is improved in the sensor signal, dynamic range and the range is increased and the uncertainty of the measurement is decreased. It also eliminates the common noise present in the two bands of the probe signal and, in the case of using a balanced detector in detection, it improves the saturation characteristics of the detector, being able to achieve much larger signal amplitudes than in the conventional case.

  • Publication number: 20160308727
Abstract: Mechanisms which examine a network of transparent bridges for establishing a specific path for each new TCP connection established between two terminals. The path is initiated by the edge bridge connected to the source terminal upon receiving a TCP segment of the type SYN for establishing a TCP connection, with the segment being encapsulated inside a special path request packet which is transmitted by all the network links to the destination edge bridge. The path is confirmed by the edge bridge of the destination terminal by means of a unicast acceptance packet which transports the response SYN+ACK segment from the terminal B in an encapsulated manner, confirming both the TCP connection between terminals and the path chosen between A and B. The path is automatically cleared when a particular time passes without the connection being used or when the terminal sends a FIN segment in both directions of the connection.

  • Publication number: 20130059818
Abstract: Highly branched macromolecules synthesized from a polyfunctional core, preferably silicon, or polyphenolic, with a carbosilane structure at its periphery functionalized with groups, preferably anionic, giving to the macromolecule a net negative charge. Furthermore, the invention relates to the procedures for their synthesis and their uses as antiviral agents, antibacterial and antifungal agents.

  • Publication number: 20120044837
Abstract: A method operates at the data link level. Each bridge associates, during a guard time, the port through which a frame is first received with a source MAC address until a unicast reply frame confirms the matching two-way path between the source and destination addresses. Any frame from the same source received through another different port is discarded. Each bridge forwards the received broadcast frames through the rest of the ports, except those involving prohibited (down-up) turns, and deviates (or optionally returns) the unicast frames with an unknown or aged destination address through the spanning tree. The protocol can operate with encapsulation in the border bridges or without encapsulation, using in this case the replacement of universal MAC addresses in the border bridges with local MAC addresses. The establishment and control of paths can optionally be performed proactively by the border bridges, especially the bridges connected to servers.

  • Patent number: 6402947
Abstract: The basic structure of a PTV (programmed temperature vaporizer) injector has been considerably modified so that is can be used for the direct coupling of liquid chromatography in normal phase or reverse phase, and gas chromatography and also for the introduction of high volumes in gas chromatography. The glass tube of the injector is filled with an adsorbent. By means of a system of valves and tubes or capillary tubes, the previously selected fraction of liquid chromatography is transferred to the injector, said fraction coming in through the same extremity for introducing the gas chromatography column. The eluent is entrained by a gas stream through the adsorbent, wherein are retained the solutes, and the solvent is removed through a tube or capillary tube introduced in the injector through the opposite extremity. Thereafter, the solutes are desorbed thermally passing to the chromatography column.
