Abstract: Highly branched macromolecules synthesized from a polyfunctional core, preferably silicon, or polyphenolic, with a carbosilane structure at its periphery functionalized with groups, preferably anionic, giving to the macromolecule a net negative charge. Furthermore, the invention relates to the procedures for their synthesis and their uses as antiviral agents, antibacterial and antifungal agents.

  • Publication number: 20120044837
Abstract: A method operates at the data link level. Each bridge associates, during a guard time, the port through which a frame is first received with a source MAC address until a unicast reply frame confirms the matching two-way path between the source and destination addresses. Any frame from the same source received through another different port is discarded. Each bridge forwards the received broadcast frames through the rest of the ports, except those involving prohibited (down-up) turns, and deviates (or optionally returns) the unicast frames with an unknown or aged destination address through the spanning tree. The protocol can operate with encapsulation in the border bridges or without encapsulation, using in this case the replacement of universal MAC addresses in the border bridges with local MAC addresses. The establishment and control of paths can optionally be performed proactively by the border bridges, especially the bridges connected to servers.

  • Patent number: 6402947
Abstract: The basic structure of a PTV (programmed temperature vaporizer) injector has been considerably modified so that is can be used for the direct coupling of liquid chromatography in normal phase or reverse phase, and gas chromatography and also for the introduction of high volumes in gas chromatography. The glass tube of the injector is filled with an adsorbent. By means of a system of valves and tubes or capillary tubes, the previously selected fraction of liquid chromatography is transferred to the injector, said fraction coming in through the same extremity for introducing the gas chromatography column. The eluent is entrained by a gas stream through the adsorbent, wherein are retained the solutes, and the solvent is removed through a tube or capillary tube introduced in the injector through the opposite extremity. Thereafter, the solutes are desorbed thermally passing to the chromatography column.
