    Abstract: The invention relates to a PET imaging device for observing the brain, characterised by comprising a structure with a shape that is capable of accommodating a human head, having independent gamma-ray detection modules, said detection modules having continuous scintillation crystals with a polygonal main section, wherein all together the detection modules form a hollow three-dimensional structure that can surround the head, and with said three-dimensional structure being elongated and having a main axis in the direction corresponding to the forehead-nape direction and a shorter axis in the direction corresponding to the straight line joining the ears, and with the adjacent scintillation crystals fitting together laterally in a precise manner along their entire thickness, forming a mosaic-like structure, i.e. without leaving gaps and without overlapping with one another.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a tuneable AWG device for multiplexing and demultiplexing signals and to a method for tuning said device. The inventive device is an integrated-optic device which enables a signal made up of a plurality of signals multiplexed by wavelength division to be injected through an input port such as to obtain, at the output, a demultiplexed signal with each component exiting via a different port. If the multiplexed signal is changed to another input port, the demultiplexed signals appear at different ports, but always according to a pre-determined relationship. The invention makes it possible to tune the AWG device by using stationary acoustic waves such that the acoustically excited optical guides are excited by a linear acoustic wave.

Among the advantages provided by the invention, it is worth mentioning its simplicity in the sensing process; its high level of integration, allowing for a design of reduced proportions; and its adaptability to dielectric structures of one, two or three dimensions.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cell organization and method for controlling ultra-wideband (UWB) transmitting/receiving devices, the aim of which is to improve spatial occupancy (number of transmitters/receivers operating per unit area) and spectral efficiency (number of transmitters/receivers operating in a certain frequency range) in a predetermined area. The control method is based on configuring the optimum parameters—transmission power, bandwidth among others—for each UWB transmitter/receiver present in each cell. The configuration is calculated by monitoring the spectral parameters of the UWB transmitters/receivers operating in the area under control using a series of UWB sensors. In a preferred embodiment of the disclosure the sensors can be interconnected using photonic technology.
