Abstract: A process for manufacturing a friction material and an inorganic liquid binder for use in manufacture of friction materials. The process for the friction material makes use of a liquid binder that provides the performance of process steps with significant reduction in temperature, pressure and manufacturing time, making the process more energy efficient. The process also includes manufacturing a liquid binder that allows the use of different types of inorganic precursors with crystalline and/or amorphous features, through a mechanical activation process of the inorganic precursor. The process pertains to the fields of chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, focused on the area of friction materials for vehicle brake systems.
