Patent number: 12017199Abstract: The present invention is in relation to a process for preparing calcium phosphate-based sulfated adsorbents that capture mercury in gas streams, comprised of the steps of synthesis of the precursors, incorporation of a transition metal, and sulfation of the material. These adsorbents present high efficiency both for removal of low concentrations of mercury, such as in natural gas, and for stabilization of this pollutant. The adsorbents obtained in the invention may be used in the Mercury Removal Units (MRUs) present in natural gas processing plants, which mercury removal units may be located either upstream or downstream of the dehydration and H2S removal units, due to the adsorbents obtained showing resistance to H2S poisoning, and maintaining their performance in the presence of water.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2021Date of Patent: June 25, 2024Assignees: PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A.—PETROBRAS, UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO RIO DE JANEIRO—UFRJInventors: Vera Maria Martins Salim, Jailton Ferreira Do Nascimento, Neuman Solange De Resende, Carla Luciane Manske Camargo, Amanda Gerhardt De Oliveira Ferreira

Patent number: 9434899Abstract: The invention relates to the preparation of carboxylic acid esters compounds, biodiesel (B) from microalgae, for use as a biofuel for compression type ignition. The objective is achieved through a hydroesterification process of a microalgae biomass (MU) comprising a hydrolysis stage and the esterification stage by means of heterogeneous catalysis. The wet microalgae biomass (MU) is the result of a process of cultivation concentration and is hydrolyzed directly in a hydrolysis column (20). Fatty acids (C), water (A) and raw glycerin (G) are obtained following the hydrolysis. The fatty acids (C) are esterified by reactive distillation in the presence of an impregnated heterogeneous catalyst (I).Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2012Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignees: PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A—PETROBRAS, UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO RIO DE JANEIRO—UFRJInventors: Donato Alexandre Gomes Aranda, Yordanka Reyes Cruz, Gisel Chenard Dias, Leonardo Brantes Bacellar Mendes, Rafael Richard Joao

Patent number: 8841497Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of formulating and preparing supported multi-metal catalysts based on metal oxides and inorganic salts of metals. The impregnation technique is employed by two methods: the slurry method and the modified-pH variation method, which are used in two steps for obtaining the catalyst. The present invention also relates to a process called Glycerol to Propene (GTP) process, corresponding to the transformation of glycerol or glycerin to propene. The reaction involved in the process of the present invention is the selective hydrogenation of glycerin, which takes place by contact of the charge of glycerin carried by hydrogen in a continuous stream system on the catalytic bed containing multi-metal catalysts, specifically prepared for this purpose.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2009Date of Patent: September 23, 2014Assignees: Quattor Petroquimica S.A., Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro—UFRJInventors: José´ Carlos Sousa Fadigas, Rossano Gambetta, Cláudio José´ de Araújo Mota, Valter Luiz da Conceição Gonçalves
