Abstract: The subject is cross-linked polymer matrices, which are used as active substance supports and can be applied locally or parenterally in human or animal bodies. The cross-linked polymer matrices are in particular self-dissolving cross-linked polymer matrices.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive material being composed and/or consisting of at least one protein obtained or obtainable from fimbriae from archaea. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of at least one protein obtained from fimbriae from archaea for the preparation of an adhesive material and a method for the preparation of an adhesive material comprising the step of isolating and/or purifying at least one protein obtained from fimbriae from archaea.
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of an antibody which can specifically bind to chemokine receptor CCR2 for producing a medicament utilized for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and/or rheumatoid arthritis in a subject that is preferably a primate or a human. In another embodiment, the invention relates to the use of an antibody which can specifically bind to chemokine receptor CCR2 for producing a medicament that is utilized for depleting monocytes in subjects suffering from multiple sclerosis and/or rheumatoid arthritis. The invention further relates to corresponding in vitro methods and therapeutic methods. And antibody which binds to CD 14, for example, can be used in addition to the antibody that can bind to CCR2.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cationic polymer containing cationic oligomers cross-linkable by fissile linker sequences, wherein said cationic polymers form, together with nucleic acids, polyplexes and can be used for cell transfection and the invention is characterised in that the cationic polymer contains intracellular reductive or enzymatic fissile linker sequences.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive material being composed and/or consisting of at least one protein obtained or obtainable from flagella from archaea. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of at least one protein obtained from flagella from archaea for the method for the preparation of an adhesive material comprising the step of isolating and/or purifying at least one protein obtained from flagella from archaea.
Abstract: The present application relates to a nucleic acid molecule having a nucleotide sequence encoding a bifunctional polypeptide comprising the DNA-binding domain of a protein belonging to the family of Methyl-CpG binding proteins (MBDs) and the Fc portion of an antibody. In addition, vectors and host cells which comprise said nucleic acid molecule and polypeptides which are encoded by said nucleic acid molecule as well as processes for producing said polypeptide are disclosed. Moreover, the present application provides an antibody specifically binding said polypeptide and compositions, in particular diagnostic compositions comprising the nucleic acid molecule(s), vector(s), host cell(s), polypeptide(s) or antibodie(s) of the present application. Furthermore, methods and uses employing the polypeptides of the present invention for detecting methylated DNA, in particular in tumorous tissue or tumor cells are provided.
Abstract: The invention relates to an implantable device for the non-pneumatic adjustable positioning of a human or animal body part, comprising a) at least one elastic element and, optionally, b) an abutment, as well as the use of this device in a method for the treatment of disorders that are caused by the deficient or inadequate positioning of a human or animal body part. In particular, the invention relates to the use of the device for treating sleep-related breathing disorders.
