  • Patent number: 11298821
Abstract: System and methods for generating a trajectory of a dynamical system are described herein. An example method includes modelling a policy from demonstration data. The method also includes generating a first set of action particles by sampling from the policy, where each of the action particles in the first set includes a respective system action, predicting a respective outcome of the dynamical system in response to each of the action particles in the first set, and weighting each of the action particles in the first set according to a respective probability of achieving a desired outcome. The method further includes generating a second set of action particles by sampling from the weighted action particles, where each of the action particles in the second set includes a respective system action, and selecting a next system action in the trajectory of the dynamical system from the action particles in the second set.

  • Patent number: 11303579
Abstract: A system and method for obtaining frequency-domain admittance/impedance using a few sets of time-series data. Utilizing an Eigensystem Realization Algorithm (ERA) or a dynamic mode decomposition (DMD), the input/output frequency-domain model reflecting voltage/current relationship is identified, and admittance/impedance identification is demonstrated for a grid-connected inverter-based resource (IBR) system. The proposed approach provides a powerful tool to replace the state-of-the-art harmonic injection methodology.

  • Patent number: 11298071
Abstract: Methods and systems detect a random state change in a subject in real time. Eye state changes may be identified in encephalogram brain signals, or honeybee dance patterns may be classified. Multivariate signals including state change information are received via a plurality of channels. The signals are sampled and may be filtered to remove DC components. Statistical characteristics of the signals are monitored. When the statistical characteristics exceed a threshold during a critical time interval, a potential change of state is detected. The critical time segment of the signals may be filtered to generate respective state change artifact signals. The state change artifact signals are decomposed by MEMD, and intrinsic mode functions are generated. Features are extracted from the intrinsic mode functions. These steps may be repeated while the extracted features are provided to a logistic regression classifier that is used to predict a state of the subject.

  • Patent number: 11278011
Abstract: A reacting canister utilizing transparent optical fiber technology coated with a photo-catalyst and a plasmonic layer, including yttrium aluminum garnet nanoparticles, disposed between the optical fiber and the photo-catalyst to degrade off-flavor compounds in aquacultured aquatic life. The degradation of off-flavored compounds—including 2-methylisoborneol—can be significantly enhanced by increasing the surface area of the catalyst. Coating individual transparent optical fibers and aligning those fibers in a canister configuration allows the treatment of large volumes of water in portable and scalable reactors. Once the fluid is treated, the fluid is returned to the reservoir containing the aquacultured aquatic life.

  • Publication number: 20220075620
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for computing 2-body statistics on graphics processing units (GPUs). Various types of two-body statistics (2-BS) are regarded as essential components of data analysis in many scientific and computing domains. However, the quadratic complexity of these computations hinders timely processing of data. According, various embodiments of the present disclosure involve parallel algorithms for 2-BS computation on Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Although the typical 2-BS problems can be summarized into a straightforward parallel computing pattern, traditional wisdom from (general) parallel computing often falls short in delivering the best possible performance. Therefore, various embodiments of the present disclosure involve techniques to decompose 2-BS problems and methods for effective use of computing resources on GPUs. We also develop analytical models that guide users towards the appropriate parameters of a GPU program.

  • Publication number: 20220043473
Abstract: A DLDO has a configuration that mitigates performance degradation associated with limit cycle oscillation (LCO). The DLDO comprises a clocked comparator, an array of power transistors, a digital controller and a clock pulsewidth reduction circuit. The digital controller comprises control logic configured to generate control signals that cause the power transistors to be turned ON or OFF in accordance with a preselected activation/deactivation control scheme. The clock pulsewidth reduction circuit receives an input clock signal having a first pulsewidth and generates the DLDO clock signal having the preselected pulsewidth that is narrower that the first pulsewidth, which is then delivered to the clock terminals of the clocked comparator and the digital controller. The narrower pulsewidth of the DLDO clock reduces the LCO mode to mitigate performance degradation caused by LCO.
