Abstract: A microscanning system including a microscope, a relay lens device, a stepping motor and a hyper-spectrometer is disclosed. The microscope is adapted to acquire and enlarge an image of an object to generate an enlarged image which is a 2D image distributed along the first direction and second direction. The relay lenses device disposed behind the microscope receives and transfers the enlarged image outputted by the microscope. The stepping motor electrically connected to the relay lens device reciprocates the relay lens linearly in the first direction device in a stepwise manner along the second direction. The hyper-spectrometer disposed behind the rely lens device receives the partial enlarged images of the object along the first direction that are transferred by the relay lens device sequentially along the second direction, and transform the partially enlarged images into the corresponding spectrum information.

Abstract: Method, systems and software are proposed for obtaining for blocks of a first image similar blocks of a second image (the “reference image”). The blocks of the first image are processed sequentially, for each block trying out a number of candidate locations in the second image and evaluating a cost function for each. Each candidate location in the second image is displaced by a respective motion vector from the block of the first image. In a first aspect of the invention the cost function is a function of a predicted motion vector for future blocks of the first image (i.e. blocks of the first image which have not yet been processed). In a second aspect of the invention the motion vectors are given by location values which are not all whole pixel spacings, halves of the pixel spacing, or quarters of the pixel spacing.

Abstract: A compound comprises a polymeric chain with a repeat unit repeated more than 5 times. The repeat unit comprises conjugated first and second cyclic groups and a plurality of side groups each bonded to one of the cyclic groups. A side group bonded to the first cyclic group is an electron donor and a side group bonded to the second cyclic group is an electron acceptor, such that the compound is switchable between first and second electrical conductive states by application of an electric field to the compound. At least one of the side groups is selected so that the compound is soluble in an organic solvent. The compound may be used in films, memory cells, or electronic devices. A layer of the compound may be formed on a surface by dissolving the compound in an organic solvent, applying the solution to the surface, and then removing the solvent.

Abstract: A computer readable medium comprising computer readable code for data transfer. The computer readable code, when executed, performs a method. The method includes receiving, at a first Axon, an ARP request from a source host directed to a target host. The method also includes obtaining a first route from the first Axon to the second Axon, and generating a target identification corresponding to the target host. The method further includes sending an Axon-ARP request to the second Axon using the first route, and receiving an Axon-ARP reply from the second Axon, where the Axon-ARP reply includes a second route. The method further includes storing the first route in storage space on the first Axon, where the storage space is indexed by the target identification, and sending an ARP reply to the first host where the source host is configured to send a packet to the target host.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of methods and systems related to fractional order element based impedance matching. In one embodiment, a method includes aligning a traditional Smith chart (|?|=1) with a fractional order Smith chart (|?|?1). A load impedance is located on the traditional Smith chart and projected onto the fractional order Smith chart. A fractional order matching element is determined by transitioning along a matching circle of the fractional order Smith chart based at least in part upon characteristic line impedance. In another embodiment, a system includes a fractional order impedance matching application executed in a computing device. The fractional order impedance matching application includes logic that obtains a first set of Smith chart coordinates at a first order, determines a second set of Smith chart coordinates at a second order, and determines a fractional order matching element from the second set of Smith chart coordinates.

Abstract: A high speed, low power method to control and switch the magnetization direction and/or helicity of a magnetic region in a magnetic device for memory cells using spin polarized electrical current. The magnetic device comprises a reference magnetic layer with a fixed magnetic helicity and/or magnetization direction and a free magnetic layer with a changeable magnetic helicity and/or magnetization direction. The fixed magnetic layer and the free magnetic layer are preferably separated by a non-magnetic layer. The fixed and free magnetic layers may have magnetization directions at a substantially non-zero angle relative to the layer normal. A current can be applied to the device to induce a torque that alters the magnetic state of the device so that it can act as a magnetic memory for writing information. The resistance, which depends on the magnetic state of the device, is measured to read out the information stored in the device.

Abstract: A dialogical information search system is realized by comprehensively utilizing different kinds of ontologies: a library classification system and a Wikipedia category. A new information search infrastructure is thus realized by comprehensively utilizing the different ontologies of library classification system and Wikipedia category. By virtue of this, a new information search paradigm can be promoted to the world: an in-depth search is realized by utilizing a library with the Web as a clue. This, as a result, contributes to improving literacy of the whole society, and conduces to rediscovering the significance of existence of libraries and further to realizing electronic libraries.
