  • Patent number: 11022158
Abstract: A device is at least formed from a suction unit, Y-axis reciprocating units, Z-axis reciprocating units, double-acting leg members, second Z-axis reciprocating units, and second double-acting leg members. As a first step for enabling the device to travel along an object surface, the double-acting leg members are strongly pressed against the object surface. As a second step, the suction unit is moved in the traveling direction of the device with the double-acting leg members strongly pressed against the object surface. As a third step, the double-acting leg members are separated from the object surface. As a fourth step, with the double-acting leg members separated from the object surface, the double-acting leg members are moved in the traveling direction of the device and returned to the state immediately prior to the first step. Thereafter, the actions of the first to fourth steps are repeated.

  • Patent number: 10913164
Abstract: A robotic device that can adhere to the surface of an object by negative-pressure suction and that can travel in a Y-axis direction and an X-axis direction. The robotic device is equipped with four suction cup units, Y-axis actuators and X-axis actuators. As for the planar shape of each suction cup, it has a shape of each quadrangle when a roughly square was divided into four quadrangles of the same shape. The quadrangles are formed provided with two right-angle portions in a diagonal portion. One right angle of the two right-angle portions of each suction cup overlaps with one of the four right angles of the square. Two of the sides that constitute the above right angle of the suction cup overlap with two of the edges that constitute the above right angle of the square.

  • Publication number: 20160363160
Abstract: To provide a simple, lightweight, and low-cost device that is capable of adhering by suction to an object surface and moving therealong. This device is at least formed from a suctioning unit, horizontally reciprocating units, vertically reciprocating units, and double-acting leg members. As a first step for enabling the device to travel along an object surface, the double-acting leg members are strongly pressed against the object surface. As a second step, the suctioning unit is moved in the traveling direction of the device with the double-acting leg members strongly pressed against the object surface.

  • Patent number: 9022159
Abstract: [OBJECT] To provide a device which is held by vacuum on a wall surface or a window surface of glass of a building, and which is moved along the surface, thereby performing the cleaning operation. [SOLVING MEANS] In three clinging units which are arranged in a row, each of the clinging units includes clinging unit putting forward/backward means for putting the clinging unit in and out in a direction intersecting with the surface. The clinging units adjacent to each other are coupled by transverse expansion and contraction means via the clinging unit putting forward/backward means, so as to constitute a row clinging unit group. In three row clinging unit groups which are arranged in the longitudinal direction, the row clinging unit groups adjacent to each other are coupled by lengthwise expansion and contraction means via the clinging unit putting forward/backward means. Each of the clinging units can be selectively set in one of three states, i.e.

  • Patent number: 8794636
Abstract: A self-sealing flexible seal includes a seal component A and a seal component B, each being hollow ball-like. In the portion of two pole parts of the each seal component, there is one annular opening per pole. The form of two seal components is similar figures, and two seal components are formed from a flexible material. The seal component A is arranged on the outside of the seal component B. The seal component A and the seal component B are arranged by a two-sheet pile, and are arranged in the state where it moreover contacted. Each of the seal component A and the seal component B possesses the slits of N pieces which have similar figures, the form of each slit is the form prolonged from the near side of the annular opening to the near side of another annular opening.

  • Publication number: 20120090111
Abstract: Provided are a method and a device for performing work in pipelines, whereby it is possible to exert an extremely large driving force within a pipeline. Moreover, provided are a method and a device for performing work in pipelines, which are provided with a means for forcibly drying the wet inner surface of a pipeline. The device is provided with an annular pressure boundary seal with a free-end portion that comes into contact with the inner wall of the pipeline. The seal separates the space within the pipeline into two spaces, a space (A) and a space (B), using the seal as a boundary. The end of the space (A) adjacent to the seal is connected with a suction pump via a hose, while the other end of the space (A), which is not adjacent to the seal, is connected with the fluid surrounding the pipeline via a vacuum breaker that adjusts the negative pressure within the space (A).
