    Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the head and the foot section of the resting surface of a bed by means of a bellows or a plurality of bellows which are expanded by compressed air and contracted by expelling the compressed air. Due to the particular construction of the compressed air unit and its positioning in a receiving space enclosed by a base plate and an adjusting plate, a self-contained appliance unit is provided which is suitable for use with any bed.
